🔥🚒 Heat Safety Alert from College Station Professional Firefighters Association 🚒🔥

As temperatures soar, it's crucial to stay safe and be prepared for heat-related emergencies. Your local firefighters are here with essential tips to help you stay cool and protected during this heatwave:

1️⃣ Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water throughout the day, even if you don't feel thirsty.

2️⃣ Limit Outdoor Activities: Avoid prolonged exposure to the sun, especially during peak heat hours (typically 10 AM to 4 PM).

3️⃣ Check on Vulnerable Neighbors: Keep an eye on elderly neighbors, children, and pets to ensure they're staying cool and hydrated.

4️⃣ Recognize Signs of Heat Exhaustion: Symptoms include heavy sweating, weakness, dizziness, nausea, and headache. If you or someone else shows signs, move to a cooler place and seek medical attention if symptoms worsen.

5️⃣ Never Leave Children or Pets in Cars: Temperatures inside a vehicle can quickly become deadly, even on relatively mild days.

6️⃣ Stay Informed: Follow local weather updates and heat advisories from reliable sources.

Our firefighters are ready to respond to emergencies, but prevention is key! Let's work together to stay safe and beat the heat. Remember, if you or someone else is in immediate danger due to heat, call 911.

Stay cool, stay safe! ☀️👩‍🚒👨‍🚒
