National Volunteer Firefighters Day

Today, I want to take a moment to recognize six incredible volunteer firefighters who mean so much to me and to the Tri-Valley Volunteer Fire Department.

Asst. Chief Mercer
Lieutenant Jensen
Firefighter Wolf
Firefighter Balzer
Firefighter Bush
Firefighter Wise

We are a small department, but we are mighty. These six are more than just firefighters, they are a team, a family, and the backbone of TVVFD.
We train together. We work together. We spend countless hours together. We respond to calls together. And through it all, they continue to show an incredible level of dedication, passion, and commitment to this department and the communities we serve.
Being a volunteer firefighter means sacrificing time away from your families, your jobs, and your personal lives. These guys answer the call whenever they possibly can, not because they have to, but because they genuinely care about the people in our community.
The truth is, if we lost this team of volunteers, there would be no TVVFD. They are the foundation that keeps this department moving forward.
I am incredibly proud to stand beside each and every one of you. I appreciate the countless hours, the late nights, the training, the calls, the laughs, the hard work, and most importantly, your willingness to serve others selflessly.
Thank you for everything you do for TVVFD and for our community. I truly appreciate every single one of you from the bottom of my heart.
Happy National Volunteer Firefighters Day to my awesome crew!
Thank you for answering the call. Thank you for serving. And thank you for being you.
- Chief Scoles

Sunshine, fresh air, and rope rescue training…finally! Days like this are a great reminder that the best training happens when you can get out in the field. Grateful for the opportunity to keep learning, sharpening skills, and training with an awesome crew.
