FURRY FRIDAYS: The City of Healdsburg is partnering with Compassion Without Borders to bring attention to the abundance of adoptable dogs. Staff from the Healdsburg Fire Department offered to pose with adoptable pooches for this campaign.
Bunny - A 2-year-old terrier mix who has brain, beauty, and brawn, Bunny is a scruffy hunk 'o love and quite the charmer. He loves connecting with his people, going on adventures, and learning new things. Bunny is pictured with Healdsburg Firefighters Mike Jacobs and Sam Douglass-Thomas.
Compassion Without Borders brings brighter futures to homeless animals, by rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming at-risk animals from California and Mexico in need on both sides of the border. The Healdsburg City Council meets on Monday, June 15 at 6 pm at Healdsburg City Hall, 401 Grove Street. An agenda highlight will be a discussion about a future quiet zone that will impact the SMART commuter train when it is extended to Healdsburg. The Councill will also consider whether to approve a new exterior paint project for the Abel De Luna Community Center, and a permit for Breathless Sparkling Wines to operate a pedicab.

Stay safe by drinking plenty of water, limiting strenuous outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day, checking on vulnerable family members, friends, and neighbors. Plus, please never leave children or pets in vehicles

A Red Flag Warning will be in effect for portions of the North Bay Interior Mountains late Wednesday night through Thursday morning. Gusty winds, low humidity, and dry vegetation will increase wildfire risk. Avoid activities that could create sparks near dry grass or brush.

PG&E has identified potential public safety power shutoff areas in the hills northeast of Healdsburg. The City will continue monitoring regional conditions and provide updates as needed. HealdsburgEmergency.org

Sonoma County Budget Hearings begin this week — starting Tuesday, June 9, the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors will review the proposed 2026–27 County budget and consider funding priorities for the coming fiscal year. 📊

Public budget hearings are open to everyone. Public comment on matters not on the agenda is welcomed at the end of the first day. 🎤
