Truck 5 just cleared a working apartment building fire in Hazleton City. Upon arrival of City crews smoke was showing and they made multiple rescues.

This past weekend, our volunteers spent Friday, Saturday, and Sunday participating in specialized “Heavy Lifting” training alongside firefighters from throughout Northeastern America and Canada.

During the training, our members were faced with several realistic scenarios involving commercial vehicles and were challenged to utilize different techniques to safely and effectively address entrapments in each situation.

This hands-on training provided our members with valuable experience, knowledge, and skills that can be put to use during complex vehicle rescue incidents.

We are proud of our members for dedicating their time to continued training and education, working alongside firefighters from across the region and Canada to strengthen our capabilities and better serve our community.

Today, members of the Hazle Township Fire & Rescue Company, along with members of the Hazleton Fire Department, had the opportunity to visit the Hazle Township Early Learning Center and provide an important fire prevention and safety program for the students.

We enjoyed spending time with the students, sharing valuable fire safety information, answering questions, and helping teach the next generation about the importance of fire prevention and knowing what to do in an emergency.

A special thank you to the school and the Hazleton Area School District for inviting us and allowing us to be part of today’s program!

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of meeting with the volunteers from Eagle Rock who organized this year’s annual Firefighters Golf Tournament.

Through their tremendous hard work and dedication, the tournament raised more than $40,000 to benefit the Sheppton-Oneida Volunteer Fire Company, Nuremberg-Western Volunteer Fire Company, and Hazle Township Fire & Rescue Company 141.

Combined with an additional $18,000 contribution from the Eagle Rock Community Association, these incredible fundraising efforts resulted in nearly $20,000 being donated to each participating fire company.

We sincerely thank the volunteers who dedicated countless hours to organizing and making this event such a tremendous success. We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Eagle Rock community for its continued generosity, support, and commitment to helping local volunteer fire companies.

Your support makes a difference and helps us continue serving our communities. Thank you, Eagle Rock!

Yesterday, our volunteers were dispatched to four calls for service, including a commercial structure fire at approximately 1839 hours at The Laurels Senior Living Center in Butler Township.

Valley Regional crews upgraded the initial fire alarm response after arriving on scene and being advised by staff of a possible fire inside the facility.

Truck 5 and Tower 7 responded to the incident. Upon arrival, Truck 5’s crew was assigned to assist with searching the building. Tower 7 split its crew, with members operating on the roof while additional members conducted an interior search to assist in locating the source of the alarm.

After a lengthy and thorough investigation of the building, crews determined that the alarm was caused by a malfunction of the alarm system, and no fire was found.

Today, members of the Hazle Township Fire & Rescue Company, along with members of the Hazleton Fire Department, had the opportunity to provide a fire prevention program for the students and parents of Maple Manor Elementary/Middle School.

We enjoyed spending time with the students, sharing important fire safety information, and helping teach the next generation about the importance of fire prevention and safety.

September was a busy month for our members, who continued to participate in training opportunities across the state, including Truck 2 attending training at the Pennsylvania State Fire Academy.

In addition to ongoing training, members responded to a variety of incidents throughout the month, providing assistance to our community when called upon.
