***This Post Has Been Edited (the second paragraph) To Include The Days That Both Santa, and The Grinch Will Be With Us This Year***
Man oh man is the time flying! Apologies to all of our followers for the delay in getting this update out to everyone. Johnny has finished getting everything setup and ready for this season, and tonight's is the opening night! Just like last year, the lights will be turned on around 5:30 PM, and will be turned off around 10:00 PM, Monday through Friday. For the weekends, the lights will be on a little bit longer depending on how many visitors we have at that time. The last night for the lights will be New Year's Eve, which is Wednesday, December 31st, 2025, just like we have done in the past.
Santa and The Grinch will both be visiting us once again this year! They will be arriving on Saturday, December 13th, and will be there every night until they head back home to the North Pole on Tuesday, December 23rd, after the lights are off. That said, let's jump into the important things for this year!
ACCESSING THE LIGHTS, PARKING, AND OUR NEIGHBORS:
• DO NOT TRY TO PULL DOWN BAUER AVE!!!
Bauer is a tiny dead-end street with no room to park or turn around, so please park on one of the side streets while NOT blocking our neighbors' cars\driveways. There are cones up at the beginning of Bauer Ave for a reason, so please do not try to move the cones or drive around them!
• DO NOT TRY TO PARK ON LAUREL AVE!!!
Laurel Ave is a main thoroughfare with A LOT of traffic. There is also a hill\blind spot on Laurel Ave which drastically reduces visibility for those driving. Please use common sense, and be careful while walking and or driving on Laurel Ave! This CANNOT BE STRESSED ENOUGH!!!! Hazlet township, and more importantly, our neighbors, have been EXTREMELY patient and gracious with the additional vehicular and foot traffic. We want everyone to be able to come enjoy the lights safely without causing any unneeded disruptions to our neighbors or their property. That said, please treat our display and our neighbors as if this were your house\neighborhood! If you block a driveway, or park in an area not designated for parking, Hazlet township WILL come tow your vehicle. Also, if you choose to park over on Leocadia Ct, DO NOT block the First Aid Municipal building. Again, Hazlet township WILL tow your vehicle!
• DO NOT LITTER!!!!
It’s a shame that we have to ask this over and over, year after year, but our neighbors are consistently seeing more and more garbage being thrown on their streets, sidewalks, yards, etc., and it's just not fair to them to have to deal with it. Our neighbors are nice enough to endure the additional traffic, so the least our visitors can do is act like adults and show some respect for our neighbor's property. Again, we’re all adults here and we beg of you, PLEASE DO NOT LITTER!!! Johnny, and others, try to walk the neighborhood every night after the lights are turned off and they pick up a TON of garbage that people have thrown around on our neighbor's property. This Is not fair to us, and more importantly, our neighbors! There is absolutely NO REASON our neighbors should have to wake up to their property covered with garbage, water bottles, etc.
• THE LIGHTS AND ABILITY TO WALK THE GROUNDS:
As mentioned earlier, the lights will be on starting Monday, December 1st, 2025. They will be on every night (weather permitting) starting around 5:30 PM, and will be turned off around 10:00 PM. The last night for the lights is Wednesday, December 31st, 2025 (New Year's Eve).
• ADMISSION:
There is NO CHARGE to walk the grounds. For those that would like to donate, there are a few donation boxes on the grounds. There is also a Venmo account where donations can be sent if you want to donate, but do not want to use cash. There will be a poster with Johnny's Venmo information, or you can use the info shared in the top post under this one.
• WALKING TO THE DISPLAY:
As stated above, please DO NOT park on Laurel Ave, nor Bauer Ave. There is no parking on Laurel Ave as per Hazlet township, so parking on Laurel Ave is not permissible or YOU WILL be ticketed, and possibly towed at YOUR expense. Once you have parked on one of the side streets, when walking to the display, please utilize the sidewalks (and a little common sense). Laurel Ave is a very busy, dark road. That, coupled with the lights, excitement, and dark of night can make for a disastrous scenario. Please use the sidewalks when walking to Bauer Ave.
The grounds are open for everyone to walk freely; we just ask everyone to stay OFF of the lawn itself where the attractions are located (the areas that are off limits are roped/blocked off; do not cross the ropes/blockades). And again, the display is FREE, meaning you DO NOT have to pay, buy tickets, etc.
As always, pets are welcomed so long as they are leashed, and are not a hazard to our visitors. PLEASE make sure that you bring a bag or something to clean up after your pet if he\she has an accident. Accidents happen and we totally understand that, we just ask that you clean up after your animal(s) so someone doesn't accidentally step in something, and so Johnny and others don't have to pick up your pet's mess.
We look forward to seeing each and every one of you, both those who have visited us in the past, and those who have never been here!
