Happy Mother’s Day from the Hazlehurst Police Department!
Today, we want to recognize all mothers for their love, strength, and the sacrifices they make every single day.
We would also like to give a special shoutout to the mothers who serve our department and the community every day! Front office personnel Ms. Toler, Mrs. Wood, and Officer Luna. Thank you for what you do for the department and the time it takes away from your family.
We hope that all the mothers have a safe, blessed, and wonderful Mother’s Day!

What a great day for our community!

We truly enjoyed the opportunity to spend time with the citizens we serve, especially our youngest ones. From handshakes and high fives to all the smiles in between, moments like these remind us why community connections matter.

Thank you to the Jeff Davis Public Library staff for inviting us to be part of yesterday’s Touch-A-Truck event. We are grateful for the chance to engage with our youngest citizens and build relationships that last far beyond the day.

UPDATE: This beautiful fur baby has been returned to her hoo-mans. We thank you all for the shares.

🚨 BOLO: Missing Hoo-mans! 🚨

This sweet pup has been separated from family and is looking for lost humans.

Found: Hinson Street, in the city of Hazlehurst

Hazlehurst PD was called after this furry friend wandered up to some very kind-hearted and welcoming children. This beautiful pup is very gentle and loving. Obviously well-cares for.

Hazlehurst & Jeff Davis County residents, please share and help reunite with family.

If this is your dog (or know who it belongs to), please call the non-emergency line for dispatch at 912-375-6621.

⚠️ Proof of ownership required (Dog is wearing a collar — owner must be able to accurately describe.) Let’s get this baby home!

⚠️School Status Update⚠️

After speaking with our local EMA and reviewing the latest update from the National Weather Service, we are cancelling school for students and staff tomorrow.

We apologize for the late notice. However, due to recent changes in the projected path and timing of the storm, and out of an abundance of caution, we feel it is necessary to cancel school.

We do not take these decisions lightly, and we appreciate your understanding.

School will resume normal activities on Tuesday, March 17.
