Due to a power outage, Duchesne Primary will not have school today, Thursday, Sept. 3. Crews are working to restore service in the impacted area. This closure only impacts Duchesne. All other schools will operate normally.

Our plan is to have Ameren restore power and return to in-person learning on Friday, Sept. 4. If the plan changes for any reason, we will notify families and staff as soon as possible.

Thank you for your understanding as we work to resolve this unexpected issue.

Happy first day of school FFSD! 🎉📚💙

What a day it was across Ferguson-Florissant! From the moment our students walked through the doors, the energy was high, the smiles were big, and the excitement of a new school year was everywhere.

Across the district, staff members worked hard to make sure students were ready to go—from helping with last-minute registration and getting class schedules to welcoming students, answering questions, and making sure everyone got exactly where they needed to be. At many schools, you may have seen Dr. Fields kicking off the morning by serving breakfast.

And then there were the reunions. 🥹❤️ Students reconnecting with friends they had not seen all summer.

We were also proud to see our community showing up for our students. Ferguson Police Department, Berkeley Police Department, and faith-based community partners from churches and organizations throughout our district visited our schools to welcome students and wish them a great year.

Today was a powerful reminder that it truly takes a community to support our students. We are so grateful for everyone who helped make the first day a great one.

Welcome back, FFSD! Here’s to a school year filled with learning, growth, joy, and endless possibilities. 💙📚✨

Let’s make it a great year!

📚 Books, big smiles & a whole lot of love for Combs Intermediate!

Thanks to a generous grant sponsored by Books for STL Kids, our District Library Content Coordinator, Stephanie Goh, was able to purchase more than $1,000 worth of books to give away FREE to students at Combs Intermediate! 📖✨

And Stephanie made sure she was there to see the joy firsthand. Although she is now stationed at Cross Keys Middle School, she returned to her former school during Meet the Teacher Night to personally hand out books to students as they got ready for a brand-new school year.

The result? Excited readers, big smiles and students leaving with a new book of their very own! 🥰📚

We are incredibly grateful to Books for STL Kids and Book Depot for investing in our students and helping put books directly into their hands. And a special thank-you to Stephanie for going the extra mile to make this opportunity personal for Combs students. ❤️

There’s nothing quite like the joy of finding a book you can call your own! 📚✨

🎒✨ FFSD, WE’RE ALMOST THERE!

Over the past week, our schools have been buzzing with excitement as families joined us for Meet the Teacher Nights! Thank you to everyone who came out to meet teachers, see classrooms, reconnect with friends and get ready for a new year. The energy was real!

We’re just a few days away from welcoming our students back for the 2026–2027 school year, and we can’t wait to see those smiling faces filling our schools again. 💙❤️

Whether you’re a returning FFSD family or joining us for the first time, we’re ready for a year filled with learning, growth, joy and opportunity!

The classrooms are ready. The teachers are ready. Now we’re just waiting on YOU! 😎🎓

Let’s do this, FFSD! The first day is almost here! 🚀
