On this National Voter Registration Day 🗳️, here’s a look at Rosa Parks’s 1962 voter registration card from the Rosa Parks Papers here at the Library of Congress.

Parks was passionate about voter registration. Before the Montgomery Bus Boycott (1955-1956) and her move from Alabama to Detroit in 1957, she had been secretary of the Montgomery branch of the NAACP for many years, where a huge part of her focus was helping people get registered to vote.

Remembering those we lost 25 years ago today, and those we’ve lost as a direct result of that day.

It's been 25 years since the 9/11 terror attacks on America. On Friday, the nation will remember those lost on that fateful day and take a moment of silence in their memory.

On this quarter-century anniversary of the attacks, the 9/11 Memorial & Museum will add a seventh moment of silence to honor those who have died of illnesses related to their time at or near the World Trade Center site.
