Team Kentucky is committed to protecting the health and safety of all Kentuckians, including by promoting childhood vaccines, which help protect every child’s chance to grow up healthy.

No changes have been made to Kentucky’s vaccine requirements for children to attend school or daycare, and childhood vaccines continue to be covered by insurance in accordance with state and federal law. Medical and religious exemptions are still allowed.
Decades of research show that routine childhood vaccines are safe and effective when given according to the American Academy of Pediatrics’ recommendations. There is no new evidence to support changing the recommended immunization schedule for children.

The Kentucky Department for Public Health encourages families to talk with their pediatrician or other trusted health care provider about recommended vaccines and how best to protect their children and loved ones.

🚗🎤 Mark Your Calendars! 🎤🚗

It may be a little early, but we want to give everyone plenty of time to get ready for a fun night on Main Street!

Our Beattyville Main Street Car Show, Cruise-In & Karaoke Night rolls into Town Square on Saturday, September 5, and we want to see everyone dressed in their favorite ’50s & ’60s attire! Dust off those poodle skirts, leather jackets, saddle shoes, pin-up dresses, and Elvis-inspired outfits—it’s going to be a blast!

🎶 Charles Elvis Hobbs kicks things off with a live performance at 5:00 PM, followed by the Car Show, Cruise-In & Karaoke beginning at 6:00 PM.

There will be:

🎨 Kids Zone & Crafts for all ages
🚗 Classic cars, trucks & bikes
🎤 Karaoke fun
☕ Great local food within walking distance

🚌💉✏️ This Back2School season and always…The KRDHD nurses are “Calling The Shots” in our clinics! Call your local health department to schedule your appointment! The nurses want to promote the reasons to protect through vaccination!
-Vaccinations are the best way to stay healthy and protect from preventable diseases.
-Vaccination protects from serious illness and complications of vaccine-preventable diseases, which can include amputation of an arm or leg, hospitalization, pneumonia, hearing loss, convulsions, brain damage, and death.
-Vaccine-preventable diseases, such as measles, whooping cough, COVID-19, and influenza are still a threat.
-Vaccinations are safe and effective. All vaccines undergo long and careful reviews by scientists, doctors, and the federal government to make sure they are safe.
-Vaccination protects others you care about, including family members, friends, and grandparents.
