Visitor Services Park Aide
(Seasonal/Maximum1500 hours per year)
Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook
Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook is seeking a Visitor Services Park Aide to assist in visitor services, educational programs, and special events at this beautiful state park in Culver City. The employee will provide invaluable support by staffing the visitor center, coordinating interpretive activities, and assisting with special events. The position can work approximately 20-40 hours per week including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
TYPICAL TASKS
Staff the visitor center, supply information to the public, answer phones/emails,
Coordinate and lead educational interpretive programs in the park.
Assist in coordinating special events, reservations, and site tours.
Assist in the Volunteers in Parks program.
Contribute to managing the park’s social media.
Coordinate with local sites and organizations to improve the unit’s interpretation and to expand its cultural, historical, natural and recreational resource base.
Assist at other local parks as needed for events and other programs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to: Be courteous, friendly and outgoing and to work productively with youth and diverse audiences; read, write and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position. Be able to work individually or in a group setting. (Proficiency in additional languages preferred).
Requirements: Possession of a valid California Driver’s License or Identification Card
COMPENSATION
Hourly: $11.17/hr.
Employee accrues sick and vacation leave throughout their season. Unused vacation hours will be paid out at the end of the season.
