Lackawaxen EMS was honored to be a part of today’s 9/11 Memorial Service at Remembrance Park at Masthope.

As we mark the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, we remember the lives lost, the heroes who answered the call, and the families whose lives were forever changed.

We are grateful to have stood alongside our community in remembrance and reflection.

25 years ago, our nation was forever changed.

On September 11, 2001, 2,977 lives were lost, including firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMS professionals, and countless civilians. In the face of unimaginable tragedy, we also witnessed extraordinary courage, sacrifice, and unity.

Today, Lackawaxen EMS remembers those who never made it home, those who ran toward danger to help others, and the families who continue to carry their loss.

We honor their memory not only with words, but by continuing the commitment to serve our communities with compassion, courage, and dedication.

✅ Stay calm and signal before pulling over.
✅ Keep intersections clear.
✅ Remain stopped until emergency vehicles have passed, and check for additional responders before rejoining traffic.

First responders answer the call for others every day, but no one should have to carry life’s weight alone. Reaching out, checking in, and asking for help are signs of strength.

Pike County is offering an Advanced EMT (AEMT) Course for EMTs ready to expand their skills and take their patient care to the next level.

AEMTs provide an important bridge between BLS and paramedic-level care, with additional training in areas such as IV access, medication administration, advanced airway management, and treatment of medical and trauma emergencies.

Lackawaxen EMS encourages anyone interested in advancing their EMS education to take advantage of this opportunity!
