The City of Hawkinsville would like to inform residents that The Scruggs Company is beginning work today, Friday, September 18, in preparation for the resurfacing of portions of several City streets.

The project will include portions of:

• Sandy Springs Circle
• Hamilton Way
• Rawls Street
• S. Wood Street
• Tina Drive
• Pine Lane
• Texas Alley
• Browncroft Street
• Powers Drive
• Branch Street

We appreciate everyone's patience as this work is completed to improve our City's streets!

If you see an area within the City limits that you feel needs attention—whether it is a potential health or safety concern, a ground maintenance issue, or another matter—please call us here at City Hall.

Speaking directly with a City employee allows us to ask and answer questions, notify the appropriate department head, enter a work order to alert the department responsible, and track the issue. It also allows us to follow up with the appropriate party and stay informed about the status of the issue.

While Facebook is a great way to share information, a Facebook post is not the most efficient way to report an issue to the City.

Unfortunately, we cannot know about every issue or see every area of the City at once. We rely on our residents to help us! We cannot correct a problem if we do not know there is one. Please call City Hall directly and give us the opportunity to address it.

A friendly reminder that Monday, September 7, 2026, will be the last day to use the Splash Pad for this season. It will re-open in May 2027.

In observance of the Labor Day holiday, City Hall will be closed Monday, September 7th. We will reopen on Tuesday, September 8th at 8:30 a.m. For any utility emergency during the holiday, please call 478-783-1212 and the on-call associate will be dispatched.

Garbage pick-up will run one day behind for the week of September 7th.

Important Update: Online Bill Payment Changes

The City of Hawkinsville would like to make residents and customers aware of upcoming changes to our online bill payment system & payment portal.

These updates will take place between August 17 and October 1, 2026, with all changes effective by October 1, 2026.

💻 Online Payment Screen
Our online payment portal will receive an automatic update, and the payment screen you see when making an online payment will look different than what you are used to seeing.

🔐 Password Resets
Beginning September 20, 2026, customers with an enrolled account will be required to reset their password. Customers will receive an email with instructions to complete the password reset.

We appreciate your patience as these updates are implemented. No action is needed at this time unless you have an enrolled online payment account or banking safeguards that require updating.

We will share additional information as needed. Please call City Hall with any questions.

UPDATE: The splash pad is back open!!

The splash pad is temporarily closed while we evaluate a water leak. Once repairs have been made, we will re-open the splash pad. Please adhere to all posted rules within the park once the splash pad re-opens.
