Please give a BIG Hawkins welcome to our newest teaching addition to our HES Special Education department - Corena McCormack!

Hello! My name is Corena McCormack, and I am a proud HAWKINS alumni from the Class of 2014! I have been married to my husband for 9 wonderful years (and counting), and together we have two amazing children: our daughter, Anna (9), and our son, Mason (7).

I have 4 years of experience working in Special Education as a paraprofessional, and this year marks the beginning of my teaching career! I will be teaching Elementary Resource, and I couldn’t be more excited. My heart is truly full to accept a position at the school that showed me so much love, support, and patience throughout the years.

Reminder for those that signed up for Summer Learning, it starts on Monday, June 1st! Busses will be running for those that needed it. Please remember that all BUS and CAR RIDER students are to be dropped off at the cafeteria and picked up from the cafeteria. We look forward to seeing everyone!

Busses will leave the school at 6:30 am and first pick up will be around 6:45 am. Last pick up will be around 7:20 am. Please have your students read by 6:45 and once we run the routes and pick up after the 1st day we will have a better idea of what time your students will be picked up each morning. Thank you for working with us!

Hawkins Elementary Summer Learning BINGO Challenge!

Students received Summer Learning Bingo Cards on Tuesday with fun reading and math activities to keep their brains growing all summer long!

This challenge is not required, but it is a great opportunity for students to continue learning in a fun way over the summer. Complete the squares, have a parent/guardian initial each square upon completion, and return it during the first week of school for a chance to be entered into a drawing for some cool prizes! If students complete the entire card, their name will be entered three times into the drawing!

Be sure to follow the directions on the bingo card. Let’s keep learning, reading, and problem-solving all summer long!

Today, two of our amazing 4th grade students stepped into leadership roles as Principal for the Day and Assistant Principal for the Day! From helping prepare summer learning packets to assisting with lunch and recess duty, they truly experienced what it takes to help a school run smoothly. They even treated our teachers with a special snack cart surprise! We are so proud of their leadership, responsibility, and servant hearts.
