This weekend several of our members (Captain Josh Byrd, Lieutenant Amber Murray and Lieutenant Walker Perry) completed NC Extrication School in Pinehurst at Sandhills CC. Pictures attached of their awesome training with firefighters accross the state as well as some other Alamance County folks from Mebane Fire!

**VEHICLE ACCIDENT / FIRE**

Station 4 responded to a multi-vehicle accident with injuries this morning just prior to exit 150 Haw River West Bound. Engine 43 arrived and found several vehicles involved as well as one vehicle with heavy damage on fire, command was established by Chief 4, and other departments were requested to assist. Several other events occurred as a result with this incident. Special thanks to all agencies who assisted with us with this busy morning.

**MUTUAL AID - TECHNICAL RESCUE**

Last night around 6:00pm, Station 4 assisted Station 12 on a technical rescue call. Personnel assisted in patient removal, off road access / transport and landing a helicopter. We’re proud to help our neighboring department and always grateful when they assist us.

The Haw River Fire Department sends our thoughts and prayers to the families affected by this tragic loss of life of a firefighter, the other two firefighters injured, as well as the Durham Fire Department and all agencies working this incident that happened overnight.

The Haw River Fire Department will be conducting a live fire training exercise in the area of:

Basil Holt Road & Apple Blossom Lane off N NC HWY 49 in Green Level.

Residents and motorists in the area may notice:

• Visible smoke throughout the evening
• Minor traffic delays near the training location

This training evolution is being conducted to provide realistic hands-on training for Haw River firefighters and to ensure continued readiness to serve our community.

We appreciate your understanding while this important training takes place. Please avoid the area if at all possible.

This morning current and retired Haw River Firefighters and family, Haw River Police Department and town administration stood collectively in remembrance of all the lives lost on this tragic day 25 years ago. We will never forget!

Tomorrow on 09/11/2026 Haw River Fire and Haw River Police Department will honor the lives lost on 09/11/2001 at both times each tower was tragically hit 25 years ago. At 8:46am and 9:03 am we will be sounding our sirens and a standing in a moment of honor.
