On Thursday 6/11/26 at 8:41 Havre Fire was dispatched for a report of a smell of smoke in a residence at the 3600 block of 14th Street West. On arrival, crews entered to find a smell of smoke and a light haze in the upper level of the home. Due to the extended length of the incident a crew was called in to backfill the station for any other 911 calls. Crews remained on scene for over an hour investigating and trying to locate where the smell was coming from. All fire crews cleared the scene at 10:09 and scene was turned back over to the homeowner.

On Sunday, our duty crew noticed a couple ladies changing a tire across the street. B-Shift offered some assistance while using it as a little bit of a learning opportunity as well with our newest firefighter on cribbing. Pictured is Will Clements and Tyhge Knotts. Thank you and good job Captain Olson and B-Shift.

🚨 Multiple Fires 🚨

Last night at 1945 hrs, Havre Fire was dispatched to the 3400 block of US Hwy 2 for a report of a vehicle, yard, and gas on fire. On arrival, Engine 1 reported a fire in the yard with heavy fire from a vehicle, camper, grass, a tree, multiple other utility vehicles and other debris. A quick fire attack and knockdown was done keeping the fire from extending into the residence. A watertender and a command vehicle also responded to the scene to fully extinguish the fire and make sure there were no hot spots. One occupant was checked out for possible smoke and fire exposure, but did not require transport to the hospital for further evaluation. All units were clear at 2123.

Today just after 1400 hrs, Havre FIre was dispatched for a report of a grass fire near 17th Avenue and 1st Street. On arrival, Engine 2 found a fire off the alley burning near an apartment complex. Fire was quickly extinguished and contained to the grass. While Engine 2 was enroute to the grass fire, Havre Fire received another 911 call for a gasline rupture on Monroe Avenue.

Off-duty personnel was called to backfill the station for both of these incidents last night and today. Be careful with these hot temps and windy conditions as fires are still starting even in green grass.

Thank you to Havre Police Department, NorthWestern Energy, and Hill County Sheriff's Office for your assistance on these incidents.

Havre Firefighters finalized apparatus driving training this week. This training strengthens one of the most important parts of the job getting to you quickly and getting there safely. Participants reviewed best practices for operating large apparatus, braking and stopping distances, backing procedures, and driving in challenging conditions because every call starts with a safe response.

Emergency vehicles handle very differently than passenger cars training helps drivers manage weight, turning radius, and stopping distance safely.

The Havre Fire Department is honored to have stepped in recently sending an engine and ambulance to Chinook with three personnel to provide coverage for the Chinook Volunteer Fire Department and Blaine County Ambulance. This transition allowed their dedicated members the opportunity to step away from the front lines to attend a fundraiser for brother, Christopher Mundlin, as he continues his courageous battle against cancer.
In the fire service, the bonds we share extend far beyond city limits and county lines. When one of our own faces a challenge, we stand together. It was our privilege to ensure that the citizens of Chinook and Blaine County remained protected, allowing our fellow first responders the time to support Chris and his family during this important event.
We continue to keep Chris in our thoughts and remain committed to supporting our neighbors whenever the need arises.
Chris, we are standing right beside you in this fight. We are sending our strongest thoughts for a full and steady recovery, and we look forward to seeing you back at full strength. Know that your brothers and sisters in the emergency services are with you every step of the way.
