🚨 Multiple Fires 🚨
Last night at 1945 hrs, Havre Fire was dispatched to the 3400 block of US Hwy 2 for a report of a vehicle, yard, and gas on fire. On arrival, Engine 1 reported a fire in the yard with heavy fire from a vehicle, camper, grass, a tree, multiple other utility vehicles and other debris. A quick fire attack and knockdown was done keeping the fire from extending into the residence. A watertender and a command vehicle also responded to the scene to fully extinguish the fire and make sure there were no hot spots. One occupant was checked out for possible smoke and fire exposure, but did not require transport to the hospital for further evaluation. All units were clear at 2123.
Today just after 1400 hrs, Havre FIre was dispatched for a report of a grass fire near 17th Avenue and 1st Street. On arrival, Engine 2 found a fire off the alley burning near an apartment complex. Fire was quickly extinguished and contained to the grass. While Engine 2 was enroute to the grass fire, Havre Fire received another 911 call for a gasline rupture on Monroe Avenue.
Off-duty personnel was called to backfill the station for both of these incidents last night and today. Be careful with these hot temps and windy conditions as fires are still starting even in green grass.
Thank you to Havre Police Department, NorthWestern Energy, and Hill County Sheriff's Office for your assistance on these incidents.
