About the Jaycees: The Montana Jaycees (members of the United States Junior Chamber and Junior Chamber International) exists for active young citizens ages 18 to 40, who bring energy and insight to solving problems locally and around

the world. They believe they can and should address the needs of others. Our members can be found in all walks of life (and more than 100 countries), but they have important character traits in common: passion for making a difference, interest in being part of something bigger than themselves, and a desire to grow and expand their horizons by being active in the community.

Meet Samm Nimmick, a first-year Jaycee already making a powerful impact as President of JCI Hi-Line Jaycees and Secretary/Treasurer for JCI Montana. Samm leads with intention, heart, and a deep belief in people.

🤝 What Makes Every Event a Favorite:
Rather than one standout event, Samm finds meaning in who shows up and how they grow. From watching members discover confidence behind the scenes at booths and displays, to seeing others step into leadership roles that benefit local nonprofits and community traditions, the true highlight is witnessing people stretch beyond their comfort zones. Even Junior Jaycees stepping up with creativity and leadership leave a lasting impression. Those moments—paired with positive feedback from community members—are what make the work feel worthwhile.
🌟 A Defining Jaycee Moment:
Samm’s favorite memory comes from attending the 2024 Election Convention in Billings—before officially becoming a Jaycee. What started with hesitation quickly turned into a sense of belonging, thanks to the warm welcome and meaningful connections formed that weekend. Seeing the respect and care shared within the organization, especially during the recognition of a Senatorship, made clear what Jaycees truly represents.
🏡 Favorite Way to Spend Time:
Free time looks a little different for Samm. The moments that matter most are spent with loved ones—movie nights, board games, cheering at events, attending concerts, reading together, and embracing the beautiful chaos of family life.
🧡 Why Samm Jaycees:
“I want to help build people and belonging. Every voice matters, especially those still finding their confidence. Through Jaycees, I strive to create spaces where individuals feel supported, valued, and proud of who they are becoming. This organization once showed me I had a place—and now I hope to help do the same for others.”

Meet Kim Vaughn, our very own JCI Montana Vice President, a passionate Jaycee who has been part of the JCI Hi-Line Jaycees family for 7 years and counting! Kim brings heart, creativity, and dedication to everything she does.
👻 Event She Loves Most:
The Haunted House holds a special place for Kim. From the early planning stages to opening night, she loves watching a vision come to life and seeing the community come together through creativity and teamwork.
🌊 A Jaycee Experience to Remember:
One of Kim’s favorite memories is scuba diving and exploring Honolulu, Hawaii alongside some of her favorite people—a perfect mix of adventure, connection, and personal growth.

When she finds a rare moment of downtime, Kim enjoys crafting, creating art, and spending time outdoors, soaking in nature and re-energizing.

💡✨ Find Your Light Campaign: Shaylyne Fisher ✨💡

Meet Shaylyne Fisher, who proudly serves as JCI Richland County Chapter President and JCI Montana Membership Vice President. Her Jaycee journey is rooted in service, connection, and a deep love for her community.

🏠 Home Chapter: JCI Richland County
⏳ Years as a Jaycee: 6 official years (with many more years involved before she was able to officially join!)

🎃 Favorite Event: Trunk or Treat — an event that evolved from traditional Trick-or-Treating at local senior centers and continues to bring smiles across generations.

🌺 A Favorite Jaycee Story:
One of Shaylyne’s most memorable moments happened in Hawaii during National Convention. While walking back from the beach, she picked up pineapple soft-serve treats—one for herself and one for her sister-in-law, who had always talked about wanting one. As a light rain started and the group crossed a bridge, Shaylyne took a spectacular tumble…yet somehow managed to keep both pineapples upright without spilling a drop. After the laughter and checking to make sure she was okay, TJ summed it up best: one of the most graceful falls ever witnessed. 😂

🌊 Favorite Places to Travel:
Choosing just one is nearly impossible, but Hawaii and Cozumel, Mexico are tied for the top spot. Both offered unforgettable experiences, beautiful scenery, and—best of all—ocean views.

🧡 Why She Jaycees:
“For me, it’s always been about giving back to the community that helped shape who I am. Being part of bringing both new and long-standing events to our area means everything to me. And as a bonus, Jaycees has given me lifelong friendships from all across the U.S.”

Meet Haley Kelley, a dynamic leader and creative force within the Jaycee family! Haley currently serves as JCI Montana Individual Development Vice President, JCI Hi-Line Treasurer & Junior Jaycees Director, and JCI USA Mental Health Committee Program Manager.

🎶 A Jaycee Moment She’ll Never Forget:
One of Haley’s most memorable moments comes from 2022 Beer Gardens in Lewistown. While working a Saturday shift, she was pouring beer, soaking up the crowd’s energy, and singing along when Bad Romance by Lady Gaga came on. A visiting State Board member she’d never met before matched her energy, turning the moment into a dramatic, joy-filled sing-along and bonding experience. That spontaneous connection became a catalyst for deeper involvement—and years later, those random singing and dancing moments are still a thing.

🎨🎤 Free-Time Favorites:
Karaoke nights with her people and diving into creative projects like diamond painting, embroidery, and bracelet making.

💡 Why She Jaycees:
“Jaycees has given me connection, growth, and purpose. The relationships I’ve built and the growth I’ve experienced are invaluable. Being able to find my light while helping others find theirs—and making a difference along the way—is something I’ll never take for granted.”

Good morning Montana!

Sorry for the delay in this announcement, but here are the winners of our 2025 fourth quarter membership drive competition! If your name is on this list, you have won free registration to state year end convention being held in Havre on February 27-28, 2026!

Please reach out to myself, Shannon Wicks, Kevin Clark-Holmes, or Rachel Bartlett and we can get you taken care of!

Unfortunately we didn’t have a winner for the chapter portion of the competition as no one reached the minimum of 5 new members that was required to qualify.

Thank you to everyone who participated! We accomplished some pretty awesome things in 2025! Here’s to keeping up the momentum in 2026!

The Montana Jaycees had their election Convention on October 3-4, and boy was it a blast. Murder Mystery welcome party, visit from our Senate NVP with many senators from across the state in attendance, 1st half awards for 2025, community project helping Lewistown Boys and Girls Club as well as the Art Gallery, and elections of our 2026 BOD.

Congratulations to all the award recipients for the first half of 2025!
