[Sat 3/28/26 11:34 am] (updated 10:47 pm)🚨⚠️ Very High barometric pressure advisory! / ⚠️ Significant/ rapid barometric pressure shift!
We are currently in very high barometric pressure. We've also had a significant/ rapid increase ⬆️ in Barometric Pressure in the last 24 hrs! We've gone from normal barometric pressure 1015 mb (29.97 hg) to 1031 mb (30.44 hg) at my location [3/28/26 - 11:34 am] in Harford County, MD.
That is a significant / rapid increase in barometric pressure of
16 mb (0.47 hg) in the last 24 hours!
(I know everyone, I can literally hear your collective sighs, as you read this! Especially, since it's been less than 24 hours since I've made one of these posts! Sorry folks!)
It's March so this kind of stuff is typical for this time of year, unfortunately. The earliest that I would expect things to stabilize would potentially be late April (20th - 30th). However, we should get some breaks here and there. But, according to long range forecasting models, Things may not stabilize until Mid-May. Once the Atlantic Ocean waters get warmer . As I explained in another post yesterday.
⚠️Those with seizure disorders or that have friends, family members or pets that do You may want to keep an eye on them. Because, there is an increased risk for seizure activity with such a large shift! **The risk increases 3x for every 5.5 mb (0.16 hg)! ⚠️

A large change in pressure in a short period of time might also cause problems for people as the gases, fluids and tissues inside of our bodies as they are trying to adjust to outside Atmospheric Pressure. Which right now the heavier air, from the Very High Barometric Pressure is pushing down on everything. Including our bodies, compressing things more. Your body may even feel heavier due to it.
High-pressure systems often lead to "subsidence," where air sinks toward the ground. This can trap pollutants, allergens, or smoke near the surface (a temperature inversion). For individuals with asthma or COPD, this concentrated poor air quality can make breathing feel more labored.
While low pressure causes tissues to expand, high pressure exerts more external force on the body. Some individuals are highly sensitive to these shifts, and the change in pressure can cause a sensation of "heaviness" in the chest or sinuses as the body adjusts to the weight of the atmosphere.
High pressure usually brings very dry air. Dry air can irritate the mucous membranes in the nose and throat, potentially causing: Increased coughing. and a feeling of tightness in the chest and dry nasal passages.
The ocean and other bodies of water will have much lower tides than normal because, of this as well. Which can cause problems for Large Ships since, the water will be more shallow.
If you're feeling more tired than usual today or experiencing other issues, such as an increase in Pain level, Sinus Issues, Feeling Drained like you just got off of a long flight, Brain Fog, a "flare" of some medical conditions, as well as other problems the current Very High Barometric Pressure may be responsible for you not feeling your best.
A lot of you have likely been feeling that swing in Pressure too. Because, it is not just Low or High Barometric Pressure that can cause problems for people. * Barometric pressure can also cause problems for pets or other animals as well!
If you would like to monitor the barometric pressure yourself and for those of you particularly that have problems with seizures, I would strongly recommend it! Below you will find a link to a post with a download link for the Barometer Plus app I use as well as setup instructions in the comments. That need to be followed to make sure it functions correctly. There is also an additional setting within the app that you can have it notify you if there's been much of a barometric pressure shift. 📌

Like many of you, I am also affected by barometric pressure changes and I'll be really glad when this stuff settles down! Not long after I woke up I realized that my back pain was really bad and I couldn't figure out why. So, then I checked the barometric pressure and there was my answer! Gentle hugs to all the other people with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and other conditions that are affected. Hang in there!
