🚒 SHCo Places Recruitment & Fire Prevention Utility in Service 🚒

The Susquehanna Hose Company is proud to place our new Recruitment & Fire Prevention Utility into service!

This unit has been specifically designed to support our membership recruitment efforts and community fire prevention programs. The utility is stocked with recruitment materials including flyers, a tent, table, flag, and information for prospective members interested in joining our organization.

In addition, the unit carries fire prevention resources such as educational flyers, smoke alarms, carbon monoxide detectors, and fire safety materials for children to help promote safety throughout our community.

The Recruitment & Fire Prevention Utility will be stationed at various SHCo stations and community events as a static display, making it easy for residents to learn more about our organization and the services we provide. The display also features a QR code that allows interested individuals to quickly access information about becoming a member.

As part of our ongoing commitment to strengthening the future of the fire service, SHCo recently lowered our minimum membership age to 16 years old, creating more opportunities for local youth to get involved. We are also excited to announce that details on a new member incentive bonus program will be released soon.

If you’ve ever considered serving your community, now is a great time to join the SHCo family. Keep an eye out for the Recruitment & Fire Prevention Utility at a station or event near you!

Congratulations to SHCo Firefighter Callie Yaeger for being awarded the grand prize for the Charles W. Riley Firefighter, Ambulance & Rescue Squad Member Scholarship!

The Maryland Higher Education Commission scholarship program supports active fire, EMS, and rescue personnel pursuing higher education in fire service, EMS, and public safety-related fields.

Chip Riley & Gene Worthington attended the May Harford County Volunteer Fire & EMS Association meeting to present the award. This prestigious scholarship recognizes dedication, commitment, and continued service to the fire & EMS community.

Congratulations again to Callie on this outstanding accomplishment, and best of luck in all of your future endeavors!

On Tuesday evening, members of the Susquehanna Hose Company participated in a Stop the Bleed class as part of our monthly company training. The class provided valuable hands-on training focused on life-saving bleeding control techniques that can be used during emergencies.

We would like to thank the University of Maryland Shock Trauma team for providing and teaching the class. A special thank you goes out to Rachel Cockerham and John Stansfield for sharing their knowledge and expertise with our members.

Members of the Susquehanna Hose Company attended the Memorial Day service at Angel Hill Cemetery this morning to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

We are proud to stand alongside our community in paying tribute to those who gave their lives for our freedoms. May we never forget their courage, dedication, and sacrifice. 🇺🇸

Congratulations to SHCo Secretary Stefanie Diehl on graduating from Harford Community College and earning her Associate’s Degree in Nursing!

The exciting news didn’t stop there — her boyfriend, SHCo Firefighter Allen Dinan, surprised her with a proposal and asked her to marry him!
