In Memory of Lawrence “Larry” W. Chalfant, Sr.

It is with great sadness that the Llanerch Volunteer Fire Company remembers the passing of Lawrence “Larry” W. Chalfant, Sr., who passed away peacefully on August 23, 2026.

Larry was a proud member of the Llanerch Volunteer Fire Company during the 1960s and 1970s, dedicating his time and service to protecting the community and helping his fellow firefighters.

Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Larry’s wife, Karen and his family.

Rest easy, Larry. Thank you for your service to Llanerch and our community.

Around 9:00 PM last evening, Llanerch Fire Company was dispatched to assist at a building fire in the Beechwood section.

Last night, Llanerch Fire Company crews responded to assist at a fire in the basement of the former Delaware County Memorial Hospital. Firefighters worked alongside neighboring departments to quickly bring the incident under control and ensure the safety of the surrounding community.
