For the first time in 39 years the Brookline Volunteer Fire Company - Station 35 1970 Maxim/International 100ft mid mount ladder truck was again crossing the fire company apron. The truck is in need of some serious repairs and maintenance. Stay tuned for more information as we get moving on this project.

This afternoon around 3:45 Station 35 was dispatched to assist Oakmont of a large brush fire. Foam 35 responded to the Marple Rd side of the incident and secured a water supply to Engine 56. The crew from Foam 35 assisted Squad 56 with placing an 1 3/4 in service and started to knock down a large amount of burning brush. This morning, we were proud to lead the Opening Day parade for Brookline Baseball & Softball alongside Engine 34 from Llanerch Volunteer Fire Company. It’s always a great day bringing the community together, and we wish all of the athletes a fun, safe, and successful season.

After the parade, our crew took Foam 35 to the Township Training Center to work with one of our members on driver training.

Last night members traveled to the training grounds for a water supply drill with emphasis on master stream operations. With numerous members on driver training this was an opportunity to see the effects of large volumes of water being pumped and its effects on the apparatus.

A review of the ladder pipe nozzles was also done, as well as changing the positioning of the aerial waterway from its standard storage to master steam operations.

Earlier today Foam and Spill 35 traveled to Upper Darby for an apparatus familiarization presentation to members of the Upper Darby Township Fire Department and Darby Fire Company.

Foam 35 is currently the only specialty piece of its kind in Delaware County offering an immediate foam response at the municipal level. Members from Brookline explained its usages, capabilities and response procedures to members of the UDFD & DFC should there be an incident where it is requested.

Spill 35 was also on display with its various spill containment components which are often used in tandem with foam operations.

Both Foam & Spill 35 respond together for all Foam And Spill requests throughout Haverford Township and where requested elsewhere.

Thank you to the members of the UDFD for the invitation!
