As a father and a lawmaker, I spend a lot of time thinking about the culture in our schools, and I worry about what it means for my 16, 14, and 11-year olds and the next generation of Americans.

I attended law school during the height of the “kneel for the flag” era, and the anti-American rhetoric promoted by some faculty members was deeply troubling.

More recently, rising religious intolerance on some college campuses, men competing in girls’ sports, and the influence of foreign money in higher education raise additional concerns about the direction of our institutions.

Yesterday, however, I felt so proud, patriotic, and optimistic after attending Wood Park Primary School’s Flag Day Assembly.

Seeing hundreds of K-2 students from all backgrounds proudly singing songs about Old Glory and speaking about what our flag represents, opportunity, freedom, justice, unity, and the sacrifices made by generations of Americans to defend those ideals, was genuinely inspiring.

Watching that sense of pride take root in children at such a young age made me think that America’s next 250 years can be every bit as great as our first 250.

The learning environment for the next generation is so important and the principal, teachers, and faculty are obviously getting it right at Wood Park Primary School!

Whether it’s Republicans in Texas and Florida or Democrats in New York and California, when politicians pick their voters instead of voters picking their politicians, voters get disenfranchised, and our government becomes even more partisan and gridlocked.

It’s time to end the map manipulation.

Grateful for the recognition from the Long Island Farm Bureau but the real honor is hearing directly from the growers keeping farming alive on the East End.

These farmers face high costs, labor challenges, and relentless development pressure, and the Farm Bill we recently passed was built for producers like them: specialty crop assistance, stronger insurance tools, storm coverage for coastal producers, conservation investments, precision agriculture support, and export promotion that opens new markets for Long Island growers.

Federal policy has to meet Long Island farmers where they are and this bill moves us in the right direction.

Since taking office, my team has recovered $15.5 million for Long Islanders by cutting through the federal bureaucracy so you don't have to.

Whether it's the IRS, VA, or a passport issue, we pick up the phone and get to work.

My office is here to help.

Yesterday in Washington, with my support, House Republicans voted to fund the Department of Homeland Security because we believe America is safer when our border is secure.

For months, Republicans offered commonsense reforms to strengthen accountability at ICE, including additional training and body cameras.

Democrats refused those reforms and chose not to support funding for border security and immigration enforcement.

I made a different choice.

I stood with the law enforcement officers who protect our communities and defend our nation.

That's why I proudly voted for the Secure America Act.

A secure border means less crime, less strain on taxpayers, and an immigration system that works for those who follow the law and play by the rules.

A Guatemalan drug pusher sold THC-laced gummies to Long Island middle schoolers, walked out of court without bail, and tried to flee to Canada.

Canadian border agents caught him and handed him straight to ICE and now he'll face his day in court in Suffolk County.

Half of the $5 million in federal funding I secured for the Town of Brookhaven Highway Department will be used to repave Harbor Road, improving quality of life for local residents and investing in infrastructure that Long Islanders rely on every day.

As the Northeast's only Republican on the House Appropriations Committee, I'm fighting to ensure Long Island gets its fair share from Washington, and I'm not done yet. 💪

I am proud to have been recognized by Stony Brook Medicine for my work advancing awareness, research, and treatment of tick-borne illnesses, an issue that affects countless families on Long Island and across the Northeast.

Through bipartisan efforts to strengthen federal attention to Lyme disease and other tick-borne diseases, I have worked to support medical research, improve public health education, and ensure patients have access to the care and resources they need.

This recognition reflects our shared commitment to combating these illnesses and improving outcomes for the communities most impacted by them.

Proud to cosponsor the bipartisan Safe Step Act because insurance companies shouldn't be able to delay the care your doctor already prescribed.

This reform holds insurers accountable with a 72-hour response window, and 24 hours in urgent cases.

For Long Islanders with chronic conditions, timely access to the right medication isn't a luxury. It's a necessity.

Today, we honor the brave heroes of the Greatest Generation who, on this day in 1944, stormed the beaches of Normandy and changed the course of history.

As a Navy veteran, I am humbled by their resolve and forever grateful for the freedom their sacrifice secured.

Because of their extraordinary valor, we live in the greatest nation on Earth, let us never forget their legacy or the price they paid for our liberty. 🇺🇸
