Good Morning,

The NWS in Jackson has placed all of Forrest County in an Elevated Flash Flood Threat Today (2 out of 4). 2-3 inches of rain in less than a 3 hour time frame will be possible. This could lead to areas of flash flooding. Some roads may be flooded or closed and some structures could be inundated with water. We are also closely watching the Black Creek in Brooklyn. The current state is 22.2 feet and it should be cresting around 22.5. This will lead to minor flooding in the Camp Dantzler community.

Sand and sand bags will be available at the following locations:

Forrest County EOC 4080 US Hwy 11 Hattiesburg
Hattiesburg Fire Station #1 610 N Main St Hattiesburg
Petal Fire Station #1 101 Fairchild Drive Petal
Forrest County Brooklyn Barn 2170 Carnes Rd Brooklyn.
