The Fieldhouse for the Homeless and The Loftin House Shelter for Women & Children are seeking dedicated, compassionate, and community-minded individuals who are interested in serving on the Board of Directors, with new 1-2 year terms beginning October 1, 2026.

We are looking for individuals who:

✅ Are in good standing within the community
✅ Have a strong reputation for integrity and character
✅ Have a genuine heart for helping others
✅ Are committed to supporting individuals and families experiencing homelessness
✅ Are willing to contribute their time, talents, leadership, and resources
✅ Share a passion for strengthening our community and helping people move toward stability and self-sufficiency

Volunteer Board members will have an opportunity to help provide leadership, oversight, strategic direction, fundraising support, and community connections as we continue to grow our programs and services.

Whether your passion is homeless services, women and children, workforce development, finance, community outreach, faith-based service, fundraising, education, or organizational leadership, we would love to hear from you.

This summer brought unprecedented heat, posing serious challenges for many, especially those without stable shelter. Amid these harsh conditions, our local community demonstrated remarkable solidarity and compassion.

The Boy Scouts played a crucial role by providing water throughout the entire summer. Their efforts ensured that people had access to hydration, a vital necessity during extreme heat waves. Meanwhile, the Fieldhouse extended its support by offering cold and frozen water supplies specifically for individuals experiencing homelessness, along with ample food provisions. These initiatives not only addressed immediate physical needs but also embodied a deeper commitment to community care.

Helping others remains a fundamental principle guiding such efforts. The core values of service—“Duty to God and country, duty to other people, duty to self”—echo strongly in these acts of kindness. By putting these duties into practice, volunteers and organizations reaffirm the importance of collective responsibility and empathy in times of crisis.

In essence, this summer’s response to the extreme heat showcased the power of community action and the enduring spirit of service. It reminds us that in facing environmental challenges, supporting one another is not only a necessity but a profound expression of our shared humanity.

These programs are designed to help individuals move beyond survival and toward stability, purpose, independence, and a brighter future.

Our classes will focus on:

💰 Financial Literacy, Stability & Life Strategies
💼 Employability & Career Development
🏠 Life Skills & Independent Living

❤️ Personal Growth, Encouragement & Mentoring

🙌 WE ARE LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEER TEACHERS & SERVANTS!

We are seeking individuals who are willing to share their knowledge, experience, talents, and heart with the women and men we serve.

Volunteer schedule:
📅 Tuesdays & Thursdays
⏰ 2 days per week 1 hrs classes 9-10:15 or 10:30-11:45
🔄 Classes will rotate, so volunteer hours may be less depending on the class and schedule.

You don't have to be a professional teacher. You simply need a willing heart and something valuable to share. The curriculum is provided

💼 Can you teach career or employability skills?
💰 Can you teach budgeting or financial literacy?
📖 Can you lead a discipleship class?

❤️ Can you mentor, encourage, and walk alongside someone?
