At Primary Purpose Men’s Recovery Home, we’ve learned that addiction isn’t just a substance problem—it’s a self problem. Left untreated, we become consumed with our own wants, our own fears, our own resentments, and our own way of doing things. The result is isolation, broken relationships, and a life that continues to revolve around self. That’s why our mission isn’t simply to help men stop using drugs or alcohol; it’s to help them become different men. We challenge our residents to put the house before themselves, serve one another, tell the truth even when it’s uncomfortable, accept responsibility, and look for opportunities to help instead of asking what they can get. We’ve found that when a man begins to shift his focus from himself to God and to others, something powerful happens. He discovers purpose, brotherhood, freedom, and a life worth living. Sobriety is the beginning, not the destination. Real recovery is found in learning to live for something greater than yourself. Memorial Day is a reminder that freedom has always come at a cost. Today we honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to this country, and we remember that sacrifice, courage, and commitment still matter. At Primary Purpose Men’s Recovery Home, we’re grateful for the opportunity to help men fight for a new way of life—one built on responsibility, brotherhood, accountability, and spiritual growth. Today we pause to remember those who served and never made it home. May we live lives worthy of the freedoms they protected. 🇺🇸

There are a lot of men right now who want help but can’t get the time in treatment they need. With insurance changes and tighter coverage, stays are getting cut short, and some aren’t getting in at all, while many can’t afford to pay out of pocket. That leaves a gap, and men are falling through it. Primary Purpose Men’s Recovery Home exists to help fill that gap. We are not a treatment center, but if you can get a few days sober and you’re willing to commit to a real 12-step program, we offer a structured, disciplined environment built for long-term recovery. This is not a crash pad, this is a training ground. We focus on daily accountability, working the 12 steps, responsibility, structure, and becoming productive, sober men. The story of Team Hoyt is a powerful reminder that no one makes it alone. Dick Hoyt pushed, pulled, and carried his son Rick through marathons and triathlons so they could cross the finish line together. After one race, Rick said, “Dad, when I’m running, it feels like I’m not handicapped.”

Recovery works much the same way — one man who has been down the road before helping another forward.
