Forrest County Supervisor Steve Stringer and the Forrest County Board of Supervisors recently provided a $2,000 donation to the Macedonia Volunteer Fire Department to assist with the purchase of equipment and resources needed to better serve the community.

Our volunteer firefighters play an important role in keeping residents safe by responding when our communities need them most. Supporting our local fire departments helps ensure they have the tools and equipment necessary to continue that important work.

Supervisor Stringer and the Board of Supervisors are proud to support the Macedonia Volunteer Fire Department and its commitment to protecting the community.

Good morning, Forrest County.
The Forrest County Board of Supervisors has approved a $66.1 million budget for fiscal year 2027. The county’s operating millage will stay at 57.19 mills. The overall levy drops to 119.72 mills, which is down 2.66 mills from last year.

5 priorities in mind when deciding on FY27 budget:
1. PUBLIC SAFETY
Competitive pay and reliable services
2. FIRE SERVICES
Staffing, apparatus and response
3. INFRASTRUCTURE
Roads, bridges and paving
4. FACILITIES
Preventative maintenance
5. FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY
Stable operating millage

The Forrest County Board of Supervisors is excited to announce the Grand Opening of the new District 1 Sports Complex!

With opportunities for pickleball, tennis, football, soccer, softball and baseball, the complex will give children, families and residents of all ages a place to get outside, stay active, and spend time together right in their own community.

And there’s another feature we’re excited about: the sports complex is equipped with field and court lighting that can be turned on remotely via text. That means residents can take advantage of these recreational spaces into the evening, making the complex even more accessible and useful for families and community members with busy schedules.

Good morning, Forrest County! Happy Humpday! Heads up for next week county offices (excluding public safety) will be closed on Monday, September 7th, in Observance of the Labor Day holiday. The Board of Supervisors meeting will be rescheduled for Tuesday, September 8th, and as always open to the public at 641 North Main.
