Parade of Champions
The Parade of Champions gained two new members yesterday.
Hattiesburg High’s boys and girls track and field teams both brought home Class 6A state championships, adding another reason for Hattiesburg to show up and celebrate.
The parade begins at 5:30 p.m. Monday at Sacred Heart High School’s parking lot. From there, it will travel down West Pine Street, turn right onto Front Street, turn left onto Main Street and end at the Rebekah Stark Johnson Community Arts Center.
This year’s parade will include two announcer stages:
▪️ Near City Hall at Forrest Street and West Front Street
▪️ At Main Street near the entrance to the Pocket Museum alley
Road closures along the parade route will begin shortly after 5 p.m. Drivers should plan ahead, use alternate routes and watch for pedestrians.
More than 40 groups of champions from across Hattiesburg will be part of the celebration, so let’s pack the route and celebrate the students, athletes, teams and organizations carrying Hattiesburg forward.
