*** Update: The owner and operator of the vehicle has identified himself and is affiliated with Community Solar. He has been educated to the appropriate expectations of attempting to sell solar in our town. That being said continue your vigilance and call us when needed. ***

Yesterday we received a report of two males attempting to “sell” solar with an insistent and unprofessional demanor in the area of N Hatfield Road. When approached by a resident and requested for identification they became defensive and left the area prior to police involvement.

We will be monitoring the situation. We want to remind all of you to please call the emergency line and request an officer if you ever feel insecure in a situation. This is also a reminder to always be vigilant of people’s intentions.

All sales representatives are expected to register with local police departments prior to going door to door. They provide their company identification, personal identification and vehicle identification.

The reported males and the vehicle in the picture are not on record with our department.

Stay safe, Be vigilant, and don’t hesitate to call for our service.
