Help the City get into the Fall spirit by decorating the Pioneer Spirit Trail with scarecrows! We provide the frame, lighting and upright stand, you provide the creativity!

One scarecrow for $50 or two scarecrows for $75.

Register by October 2--finished scarecrows are due to our office by October 14. The scarecrows will be on display from October 16 through Halloween, with the community voting on Facebook and at Fall Fest to pick a favorite!

This free annual event for area seniors is an afternoon full of fun and friendship! This year's event features live music from Tim Mohanna, Bingo, plenty of display booths, refreshments, door prizes and more!

This race is on Saturday, September 19th with an 8:00am start. Sponsored by the Adams County Visitors Bureau and benefiting the Hastings Airport Association, this 5K takes runners and walkers throughout the airport grounds and provides amazing views of the operation and the airplanes on-site.

Labor Day marks the last day of operation for the wading pools at Heartwell and Lincoln parks. The Libs Park splash pad will continue to run as long as temperatures remain hot. We'll keep you informed when the splash pad will close.

The Fall session takes place every other Friday, beginning on September 11th, 2026. Visit our website for the program’s specific schedule, which includes the primary sport or activity for each scheduled class.

This class is for participants aged 5-15.
Location: Community Center
Times: 5-10 year old's 1:00-2:00 PM
11-15 year old's 2:00-3:00 PM
Fee: $5 a day per child

Deadline is Friday August 28th for Men's Fall Slow-Pitch Softball!! The league will be starting September 15th. This will be a 4-week season with a double-elimination tournament.

Location: Smith Softball Complex
Days & Times: Tuesdays starting at 7:00PM.
Price: $250 per team | Register by Friday August 28th

This Fall league is an individual draft format for 40+ Men's slow pitch players. Players can select preferred positions and teammates during registration. Double-headers will be played on Monday evenings at 7:00pm and 8:00pm--games may also be played at 9:00pm if enough teams are formed. Teams will be drafted on Tuesday, September 8th. Games begin on Monday, September 14.
