With the recent storms and high winds we’ve had recently, we wanted to send out a reminder around our brush pick up service that’s available. This monthly service will be available through November permitting weather. Below are the proper guidelines for pickup. If you have any questions at all please don’t hesitate to call our Village office.

Guidelines:

Brush should be placed curbside loosely, not bundled.

Limbs in excess of 6 inches diameter and 6 feet in length will NOT be picked up.

Stumps will not be collected Brush mixed with leaves or other yard debris will not be collected

The intent is to collect reasonably sized brush piles: nothing larger than a pickup truck load and no smaller than a wheelbarrow load.

The placement of brush in the public right-of-way is not permitted unless it is part of the collection schedule as outlined above. Brush cannot be placed in the right of way/curbside more than five (5) calendar days prior to scheduled date.

Any brush placed earlier than five (5) calendar days prior to pick up, or after pick up is the property owners responsibility and subject to citation/violation of Village Ordinance and Village Zoning if left at curbside.

As a reminder December to March, residents will be required to remove their own brush, which can be taken to Renewed Outdoors, 23691 N. Dixie Hwy., Perrysburg, OH 43551 free of charge or to the Wood County Landfill for a fee.

This agreement with Renewed also allows the Village of Haskins Residents to drop off wood and yard waste at their facility as well, Monday through Saturday, free of charge during normal seasonal business hours.* Items accepted are: Brush, Woodchips, Leaves, Ornamental grasses, Straw, Cornstalks, Grass Clippings, Garden or Flowerbed Weeds, and Logs under 18 inch diameter. Other yard wastes accepted beyond Brush and Leaves can be found on their website.

❄️ WINTER PARKING BAN ❄️

The Village of Haskins will be enforcing its emergency snow parking ban.

The Village is requesting all vehicles be removed from our Village streets no later than 11am on Sunday, January 25th, 2026. This ban will remain in effect until the snow event has ended and village streets have been cleared of the excessive snow.

During parking bans, parking on the Public Way is prohibited until the ban has been lifted. Vehicles are subject to towing and a fine if parked on the Public Way.

HASKINS VILLAGE: Winter Storm Warning until 07:00AM Monday.

Residents are strongly urged to remove all vehicles from streets to allow for efficient, safe snow removal by our village crew. Parked cars in the roadway hinder plow operations, cause bottlenecks, and prevent access for emergency vehicles.

Help us help you. Drive smart. Stay home if you can. The couch is safer, it’s a great time to binge-watch your favorite show or read a book. If you’re stuck inside with very energetic littles, may the odds be ever in your favor.

Be safe and have a great weekend everyone!

Attention Village Residents:

If you’ve received one of these mailers, that means it’s time to contact the BG Water Department to schedule your new water meter installation. BG water is currently upgrading meters across the community in phases. If you haven’t received a mailer yet, no need to worry—it just means your area is scheduled for a later phase or they are simply not in your part of town yet. Please do not ignore these letters or door hangers as they will attempt to contact you three times before turning water off. Please reach out to BG Water for any questions or concerns.

Through snow, ice, and freezing temperatures, our maintenance team work day and night to keep our roads clear and safe. We thank every snowplow driver, mechanic, and support staff member who helps keep our Village safely moving – no matter what the forecast brings.

For the month of January, help us in honoring those that work tirelessly to keep our roads safe in the village! Something as simple as a hot cup of cocoa or coffee go a long way in showing your appreciation. 🙂

Happy Holidays!!
