Wanaque Boro Democratic Club

Wanaque Boro Democratic Club Founded in 1933, we are an organization for all Democrats who live in Haskell and Wanaque Borough.

Mission Statement

We envision a Wanaque Democratic Club that seeks and embraces broad community input to formulate its platform,

a Democratic Club that establishes a strong and inspirational voice to improve and maintain the quality of life and sense of community of all of our neighbors, and

a Democratic Club that strives to align our values and beliefs with the actions of each of our members

. We will encourage, select, and elect qualified candidates for public office that represent and uphold the core values of the club and the Democratic Party. Our club will form the political conscience of those who participate in government and attract a vast number of
women and men to serve the Democratic Party ideals and process. Our Principal Objectives Are:
• Always make the People of Wanaque more important than the
Politics of Wanaque

• Maintain open and positive communication between the elected
officials of Wanaque and the citizens of our community

• Ensure that all elected and appointed officials maintain the highest
standards of ethics and carry out their duties with compassion and
fiscal responsibility

• Monitor the tax burden on our fellow citizens

• Balance growth and the cost of Borough services

• Attract successful commercial business growth while protecting our
environment and natural resources for the enjoyment of all
residents

• Support the creation and expansion of recreational activities for all
members of our community

• Ensure the highest quality of education for our children

• Offer a forum for vigorous discussion of local issues and support
the concerns of all residents with issues affecting their
neighborhoods

• Promote democratic party activities to all interested citizens, and
encourage more democrats to become active in local political
affairs

• Support local, county, state and national efforts of the democratic
party by campaigning, fundraising and educating the voters of
Wanaque

• Recruit, nominate, elect and support good local leaders to govern
and guide us - today and tomorrow

This Friday, May 29th we proudly welcome visitors to the Passaic County Archaeology Center at the Harry S. Vreeland House — a new space dedicated to uncovering, preserving, and sharing the rich archaeological heritage of Passaic County.

Located within the historic Harry S. Vreeland House, the center invites the community to explore artifacts, stories, and discoveries that connect us to the people and cultures who shaped our region. Through exhibits, educational programs, and hands-on learning opportunities, the Archaeology Center will inspire curiosity about the past while preserving it for future generations.

Join us as we celebrate this exciting new chapter in Passaic County history!

During National EMS Week (May 17–23), we would like to recognize and thank our EMTs, paramedics, and emergency personnel for their dedication and service to our community.

Our Wanaque First Aid Squad, made up entirely of volunteers, has proudly served our Borough and surrounding towns since 1973. Day or night, they are there for us during some of life’s most vulnerable moments, providing compassionate care and emergency assistance when it matters most.

Please join us in celebrating National EMS Week by thanking the dedicated volunteers who continue to support and protect our community each and every day.

It’s easy enough to find altruism for library or PTO fundraisers, but site maintenance is important but not as social media ready (not that you’d ever brag yourself). Thank you Richard McFarlane and your crew for rolling up your sleeves and volunteering to get down & dirty.

Just leave any Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to themselves.
