Chocolay Bayou Nature Preserve

We're all for making forts when you play outside - but please only play with dead and down trees when you're in the woods, and make sure kids know this, too. Trees are alive, and the point of a nature preserve like the Bayou is to, well, protect and preserve nature.

Please join us in protecting and preserving the trees, plants, soil, and other living beings who call the Bayou home so that the humans who visit can enjoy the serenity and beauty of protected nature.

Did you know that land conservancies in northern Michigan have protected over 136,000 acres over the last 50 years?

That "up north feeling" is protected forever, thanks to Leelanau Conservancy, Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy, HeadWaters Land Conservancy, and Little Traverse Land Conservancy for being a part of this important work.

We're taking a look at the incredible work done by Northern Michigan conservancies, which combined have preserved more than 136,000 acres across the North.
