Well Facebook, I have been waiting to post about the Winter Storm Fran to I felt comfortable with the forecast that’s ever changing. I wish and pray the system would lift more to the north and take us out of the significant ice accumulations. As of this evening they are still predicting our region to receive 0.50” to 1.1” of freezing rain. This amount of ice will bring down power lines and trees. Expect numerous power outages and roads blocked. Please stay off the roads as they are not like the last storm where the DOT had the opportunity to brine the roads. You can’t do that if it’s raining.
Emergency personnel will be standing by but response will be slower and we may have to redirect due to blocked roads.
Please be fire safe with candles and alternative heating sources. Remember space heaters need space, minimum of 3 feet from objects. Don’t run generators in the home or garage and don’t hook up to your electrical panel if you don’t have a transfer switch to protect power workers.
Be safe everyone!
