WRIGHT COUNTY BURN BAN — EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY

Due to severe drought conditions and extremely high fire danger, the Wright County Commissioners have enacted a countywide burn ban effective today, September 14.

No open burning, campfires, trash burning, or other fires are permitted, except as specifically allowed by the resolution. The ban will remain in effect for 60 days unless rescinded or extended.

This is serious. Firefighters across Wright County are currently battling a fire that has already grown to several hundred acres.

Please do your part: DO NOT BURN. Help us protect our communities, property, and firefighters.

On September 11, 2001, tragedy struck our great nation and forever changed our country.

Among the thousands of lives lost that day were 343 firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving others. They answered the call, knowing the danger, and ran toward it when others were running away.

Today, we honor their bravery, courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to the mission of protecting and serving others. Their actions that day remind us of what it truly means to be a firefighter — to put the lives of others before our own.

Their names may be gone from the radio, but they will never be forgotten.

We remember the 343. We honor their sacrifice. We carry on their mission.

The Tre Sawyers Prayer Ride, a fundraiser event bringing together motorcycle riders from the area, will be traveling through Hartville around noon on Saturday, September 5, 2026.
With a larger-than-normal group of motorcycles on the road, motorists may experience slower traffic, brief delays, and increased motorcycle traffic at the 4 way intersection.
Be patient and avoid attempting to pass within the group.
We appreciate everyone's patience and cooperation as we welcome the riders through our community!
