We Belong Here
Written by Debra J. Hopkins

We are not mistakes in the margins,
not footnotes scribbled out in fear.
We are stories written in full sentences,
voices meant to be heard, not erased.

We rise each morning carrying courage
most will never have to name—
choosing truth over silence,
breathing in a world that questions our right to exist.

Our names are not trends.
Our lives are not debates.
Our bodies are not battlegrounds
for someone else’s comfort.

We love.
We grieve.
We laugh, worship, work, and dream—
just as deeply, just as fiercely, just as human.

Equality is not permission.
It is recognition.
It is the simple, sacred truth
that no one must earn their right to be.

So let justice learn our pronouns.
Let laws catch up to love.
Let faith remember
that dignity was never meant to be rationed.

We are still here.
We have always been here.
And we are not going anywhere—
because belonging is not granted.

It is inherent.

With all this frigid weather, let’s pray for our homeless community.

🎨 Calling College Art Students!

I’m looking for a talented student artist who would like to create 23 soft-pencil style illustrations for my upcoming children’s book, Gingerbread Land.

This is a wonderful opportunity to build your portfolio and receive full credit for your creative work in a published book.

If you’re interested, please message me for details. I’d love to connect with someone who has a passion for storytelling and whimsical, child-friendly art.

📖 A Glimpse Inside – Subject Four: Understanding Discipleship Today

Discipleship today goes beyond church walls and Sunday services. In our fast-paced and diverse world, it’s about authentically living your faith in every area of life—at home, at work, in school, and in the community.

It means allowing the love, truth, and grace of Jesus to guide your actions, decisions, and relationships. A teacher who prays for their students, shows kindness under pressure, and fosters integrity is living discipleship. A business leader who treats others with fairness and upholds strong ethics demonstrates faith in action.

Modern discipleship is Christ’s presence in everyday spaces—coffee shops, classrooms, boardrooms, and beaches. It’s visible not only in what we say, but in how we live, lead, and love.

Subject: Urgent Help Needed for Our Sister, Chastity J. Boswick

Dear Beloved Community,

I am reaching out with an urgent appeal on behalf of my dear sister and fellow advocate, Chastity J. Boswick, a courageous transgender woman who is currently facing a serious financial crisis.

Chastity has been a light in so many lives—a woman of quiet strength, deep faith, and unwavering resilience.
Despite the many challenges she has endured, she has continued to stand in truth and grace. But today, Chastity is in urgent need of our help.

She is at immediate risk of losing her housing, lacking funds for food, daily living expenses, and vital healthcare. The situation is critical, and without swift support, she may face devastating consequences.

As members of a community rooted in love, justice, and radical compassion, we cannot let her face this moment alone.

We are asking for your help to raise funds to support Chastity’s:
Emergency housing

Food and daily essentials

Transportation and personal safety needs

Access to medical and mental health care

If you are able to donate, no matter the amount, please know that your gift can be life-changing for Chastity. It will provide not only material support but also a powerful message: You are not forgotten. You are loved. You belong.

If giving financially isn’t possible right now, we ask you to share this message, lift her in prayer, and surround her with your love and support.

Let us be the community that holds each other up when life becomes too heavy to carry alone.

With faith, hope, and unwavering solidarity,
