This Memorial Day, the Hartsville Fire Department honors and remembers the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

Their courage, dedication, and selflessness will never be forgotten. As we gather with family and friends this holiday weekend, we pause to reflect on the freedoms we enjoy because of those who gave everything to protect them.

Please join us in remembering our fallen heroes this Memorial Day.

Today personnel completed another vital prop at the John Auten Training Facility. Crews now have the ability to train on various tower rescue scenarios and sharpen skills before moving to taller structures. This can be accomplished with the ability to monitor techniques closely from the comfort of the tele-handler that's stored on site

Today, and everyday, we are thankful for our Administrative Professional! She is the glue that holds our department together. Most of her work takes place behind the scenes, but without her hard work and dedication, our department would not run as smooth as it does. Thank you Mrs. Sherry for all you do for us at the Hartsville Fire Department!

Today the Hartsville Fire Department welcomed 8th graders from Hartsville Middle School as part of the Darlington County School District ASEND program. It was a great day spent sharing what we do, giving them a behind-the-scenes look at life in the fire service, and talking about the many career paths right here in our community.

Moments like this are what it’s all about, connecting with the next generation, sharing our passion for service, and hopefully sparking a little inspiration along the way.
