Why can't we be Friends? Our longtime Friends of the Library President has stepped down and we are looking for volunteers for this AMAZING organization. The Friends raise money for the library through fundraisers such as the book sale. It's a great way to volunteer and raise money and awareness for the library and really make a difference. Have you heard? HPL is engaged in a pilot program with Norwich and Thetford in an effort to increase accessibility of materials to patrons using the OneCard system. Rather than going to another library to borrow a book within our OneCard system, you/we are able to place holds at other libraries and ship directly to us using our Interlibrary Loan courier system. It's all handled via the catalog - no need to fill out an ILL form! We are hoping this will be implemented with OneCard libraries by next year.
