On Monday, members of the Hartland Police Department met with the Hartland Lakeside School District to discuss student and staff safety. During that meeting, the Hartland Police Department presented Principal David Risch with a letter of appreciation and a department challenge coin. Principal Risch provided outstanding assistance during a recent missing child investigation. The Hartland Police Department contacted Principal Risch in the early morning hours of the investigation when he was at home. He was able to provide critical information that significantly aided our efforts. He provided relevant addresses, phone numbers, and gave valuable leads during a time-sensitive situation. He was able to relay to officers who the missing child had been with the evening prior while playing at the school. His actions directly contributed to the efficient and successful resolution of this incident, and for that, we are truly grateful. We thank Principal Risch and the Hartland Lakeside School District for their dedication and support.
