Hartland, Wisconsin Fire Department

Hartland, Wisconsin Fire Department Official page of the Hartland Fire Department (Hartland, WI). The Hartland Volunteer Fire Department was organized in November 1893.

Monies used to buy equipment, vehicles, and gear were collected by fire contracts and raised through dances, an annual picnic, and donations. In 1958 the Village of Hartland took over the Fire Department as the governing body, and to this day all equipment, buildings, vehicles, and wages are paid for by the Village budget process. When the Emergency Medical Service (EMS) was added to the departmen

t in November 1978, the Volunteer Firefighters and EMTs then became paid on-call members responding to fire and rescue calls. Today, HFD provides fire suppression/rescue services and paramedic-level EMS to the Village of Hartland and surrounding areas. HFD is a combination department with a mix of full time, part-time, and paid-on-call members.

Former HFD Lt Matt Anderson passes away from cancer.

Lt Anderson served HFD from 2002-2016. During that time, he was instrumental in a number of HFD initiatives, including the Hartland Extrication Team, logo design, and the introduction of Iamresponding software to HFD.

After he left HFD, he worked with Ryan Brothers ambulance and became an Assistance Chief with the Johnson Creek Fire Dept.

Below are a few pictures from his time with us. He traveled multiple times as part of our teams that competed in international extrication competitions. Pics below are from the 2013 competition team in NY.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and colleagues.
