Our Community Engagement Manager, Liz, was once again happy to volunteer as the annunciator of the annual Livingston County Senior Spelling Bee, held at the Hartland Senior Activity Center. Every single one of these ladies blew the crowd away with their spelling prowess!

17 harrowing rounds of competition resulted in the following winners: 1st place, Kathy of the Hamburg Senior Center; 2nd place, Judy of Oakhaven Manor Retirement Community; and 3rd place, Ethel, also of Oakhaven Manor!

Once again, congratulations to all competitors, and thank you to Lynn from CareBridge Home Health and to the crowd of spectators from all over the county that cheered our spellers on!

Dive into history, learn something new, and get inspired with the Detroit Historical Society!

On Monday, July 6 @ 6:30 pm, we're excited to host a program focused on Abraham Lincoln’s Civil War presidency, and the history of American freedom and justice in the pivotal year of 1865. We'll learn about Lincoln's history-making decisions, the changes that followed, and the creation and implications of the 13th amendment.

Get ready for Cromaine's fourth annual Craft Swap on Saturday, June 27 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm! 🧶💙

Be a part of this community exchange by donating new or gently used crafting items to the dropoff box in the Library, now until Thursday, June 25. Yarn, knitting needles, crochet hooks, thimbles, beads, scrapbook paper, embroidery supplies, paints, and other craft supplies are accepted. Then, visit the third floor Community Room on Saturday, June 27 to peruse new-to-you craft supplies! 😍

Registration isn't necessary for this event, but you can get all the details on our online calendar. We can't wait to see you at the Craft Swap!

Saturday was an exciting day in the Village--our new neighbors, .mi hosted their grand opening and ribbon cutting event. Everything looked (and tasted) delicious, and a great crowd turned out to support their first day open to the public. We're so excited to have a local bakery within walking distance of our Library!
