Tonight, as the Connecticut General Assembly officially concluded the 2026 legislative session and reached Sine Die, legislators rang America 250 commemorative bells throughout the Capitol House chamber in celebration of the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States.

The bells were made by Bevin Bells, a historic family-owned manufacturer in East Hampton that has operated since 1832 and remains the last bell maker in the United States. Bevin Bells is also the official bell maker for Connecticut America 250.
