Why does that matter?

Great question. If you hire an actively registered contractor, and the project goes wrong, you may be eligible for partial reimbursement through our Home Improvement Guaranty Fund.

To verify a registration, visit elicense.ct.gov and search the business or contractor's full name. If nothing pops up, the contractor is not registered. Always look for an active status✅

Happy 44th Birthday Lemon Law! 🚗

Today, we are celebrating the state's historic Lemon Law Program. On June 4, 1982, Connecticut became the first state in the nation to create an automobile dispute program between owners of defective vehicles and manufacturers.

Over 40 years later, the program has returned over $100 million to consumers.

- Fake graduation invites will ask recipients to login to view invite details in an attempt to steal your email and password.
- If a CAPTCHA verification shows a QR code, don't scan, and close the tab.
- Be wary of summer travel, always search the name of the booking website and "scam" or "review."

Signs of a scam:
- Advertised as "flexible" and that you can work at any time or any location
- There's no company name or job title
- Little to no description of the position

If you get a text like this, don't respond. Just hit "report junk" and delete the message.
