Tomorrow is National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. This is a chance to safely dispose of any unwanted, unused or expired medications to prevent misuse or abuse and to prevent potential contamination of water sources. Local drop off locations include the Southbury Police Department and Bridgewater Resident Trooper's Office. Hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

If you’re eligible to vote in Connecticut, you can vote on Election Day, by absentee ballot or during in-person Early Voting, starting today and continuing through November 1, 2026. During the 14-day Early Voting period at your town’s designated Early Voting location, you check in, receive a ballot to mark privately, and then insert the ballot directly into a voting tabulator.
Early voting hours are: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with extended hours on October 27th and 29th. The extended hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Find your Early Voting location at MyVote.CT.gov

It’s always a great time at the Toplands Farm LLC Farm Show in Roxbury. It is happening today until 4:00 p.m. The spectacular property houses the largest collection of antique restored tractors and farm equipment in the Northeast. There is music, food, tractors, vendors, kids activities, and of course the meat shop. Come on down and support this great local farm.

For the rate year, Eversource proposes an increase in distribution operating revenues of approximately $727 million. This represents an increase of approximately 16% over the currently allowed overall revenues, and approximately 50% over currently allowed distribution revenues. According to the Application, revenues for the remainder of the four-year term would be calculated within the annual Rate Adjustment Mechanism (RAM) proceeding.

Southbury Celebration was a great time and huge success last night. Undeterred by last week’s Nor’easter, the committee worked extra hard to reschedule to last night. Thanks to everyone involved with the planning and organization of this great community event.

New Milford Riverfest is happening now at Young’s Field - music, food and ending with fireworks this evening.

For those in Southbury, don’t forget Southbury Celebration was rescheduled to this evening starting at 4:00 p.m.
