Hartford Democratic Town Committee - Meeting Minutes
Monday Sept. 29, 2025 at 6:00pm - Function Room, City Hall
• Meeting called to order at 6:11.
• Pledge of Allegiance. Mr. Harris led the Pledge of Allegiance.
• Mr. Hayes called the roll. Quorum established (31).
• Treasurer’s Report. Chairman DiBella gave the Treasurer’s Report. The balance in the HDTC account is $34,003.33.
• Democratic Registrar of Voters Presentation. Registrar Feliciano presented to the HDTC. She explained and demonstrated the new voting machines, early voting, curbside voting, and voting registration.
• Approval of July 15, 2025 Minutes. A motion was made to accept the July 15, 2025, meeting minutes by Mr. Torres and seconded by Mr. Kennelly. There was no discussion, and no changes were made. Minutes were adopted via voice vote.
• Voter Turnout. Chairman DiBella opened the floor for a discussion regarding how to increase voter turnout throughout the city. Mr. Arroyo, Representative Gonzalez, Vice Chair Clarke, Ms. Airey, Mr. Johnson, Mr. Sentner, Mr. Caamano, Ms. Patterson, Ms. Calderon, and Mr. Harris shared their thoughts, ideas, and concerns.
• New or Old Business. Chairman DiBella announced that there will be a cleanup at the Spring Grove Cemetery on Saturday, October 4th at 8:30am. Chairman DiBella shared the unfortunate news that Mr. Andrew Rodney’s father recently passed away. Ms. Airey shared that Mr. Davis’ significant other passed away unexpectedly.
• Point of Privilege: Mr. Kennelly expressed his concern and disappointment that the endorsed Board of Education candidates voted to make the Working Families Party candidate the Chair of the Board of Education. Ms. Whatley, Ms. Airey, Mr. A.J. Johnson, Representative Gonzalez, and Chairman DiBella also voiced their concerns and disappointment.
• Chairman DiBella thanked everyone for their participation and adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
