I just want to take a minute to recognize our staff at Ohio County Detention Center.

This job isn’t easy, and it doesn’t always get the recognition it deserves, but I see the work they put in everyday. Including the long nights, weekends, and holidays. When everyone else is at home with their families. I appreciate the dedication, professionalism, and having each others backs.

It appears that scammers are contacting family members of incarcerated individuals again. They are claiming to be from the Detention Center or the Court and telling people that they can pay a certain amount to secure release by setting up an online banking account and tranferring money.

‼️OCDC will never call you to set up or accept payment for an inmate’s release or home incarceration.‼️

If you receive one of these calls, do not send any money or provide personal information. You can find bond information on our website or call us at 270-298-4455 to verify bond information.

You can report any scams to the Kentucky Attorney General’s Office at 888-432-9257

Please do not fall victim to this scam. Help us spread the word and protect our community.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

On 4/9/2026 at approximately 1434, inmates were being escorted back from Ohio County Circuit Court, when Inmate Isaiah Myles had slipped his ankle restraint and ran on foot. A full Multi-department search was conducted of the immediate area and Inmate Myles was apprehended without incident on Walnut Street in Hartford at approximately 1456. The investigation is still ongoing and inmate Myles will receive new charges.

We would like to thank all the departments who assisted in the search.
