We are proud to recognize Trinity College Librarians Susan Chatham, Kim Rinaldo, Christina Bleyer, and Amanda Matava for sharing their expertise at this year’s Boston Library Consortium Forum.

Susan Chatham and Kim Rinaldo presented Evaluating AI Tools in Library Databases: A Practical Approach, offering insights into assessing emerging AI-powered features in library resources and helping libraries make informed decisions about these rapidly evolving tools.

Christina Bleyer and Amanda Matava presented Whose Archive Is It Anyway? AI, Power, and the Future of Post-Custodial Practice, exploring how artificial intelligence intersects with archival stewardship, community partnership, and questions of authority, access, and intellectual control in post-custodial archival work.

Together, these presentations highlighted the important role libraries and archives play in navigating technological change while remaining grounded in their commitments to access, preservation, teaching, research, and ethical stewardship.
Congratulations to Susan, Kim, Christina, and Amanda for representing Trinity College and contributing to important conversations about the future of libraries, archives, and AI.

The Watkinson Library and Trinity College Archives is excited to announce a new acquisition!

Alden Rand Gordon, member of the Trinity class of 1969 and Paul E. Raether Distinguished Professor of Fine Arts, Emeritus, has recently donated his collection of faculty papers and alumni memorabilia to the Trinity College Archives. Once processed, the collection will be accessible for researchers interested mainly in the ways that art history was studied and taught in the late twentieth and early twentieth-first centuries, but also as a perspective on the wider campus activities of an alumnus and faculty member who contributed greatly to the intellectual rigor of college life. The collection will be known as the Alden Rand Gordon papers.

Calling all zines!!

Zine submissions are open for the Zine Forest, an upcoming exhibition to take place this fall in the Level A Exhibit Gallery in Raether Library. Submissions are open to the Trinity and Hartford community. All subjects are welcome and anonymous entries are welcome.

Submissions are due by September 1. Please bring a physical copy of your zine to the Watkinson Library, located on Level A of Raether Library. The Watkinson is open from Monday - Friday from 9 AM - 4 PM. You may also email a copy of your zine to [email protected]. Physical and digital entries are welcome!
