Father’s Day is such a mix of emotions for me. I miss my father and wish I had the opportunity to spend just one more day with him, but I am also feeling incredibly grateful for the father of my children. Watching him be the father many only dream of, brings me so much happiness. The asks have definitely changed over the years, from ice skating, tractor rides, basketball coaching, Magic games and princess chariots to becoming the chauffeur, the late-night sounding board and trying to keep up with how much times have changed. He’s always game (except for the TikTok antics - that’s where he draws the line). But no matter the age or stage, he shows up for it all because it makes them happy and he loves them so deeply. That kind of love is really special. So, happy Father’s Day to all the dads, granddads and father figures who keep showing up and love with their whole hearts. You’re making this world a better place.

Happy 200th Birthday, Madison! 🎉

This past weekend, it was a joy to celebrate two centuries since Madison’s incorporation and its independence from East Guilford in 1826. It’s a milestone that reminds us how deeply rooted this community is in Connecticut’s history and how well Madison has balanced tradition and progress.

And what a fitting time to celebrate on Flag Day weekend, as we also begin to celebrate our nation’s 250th birthday. Moments like these connect our local story to the larger American story; one of growth, resilience, and community. 🇺🇸

Here’s to honoring our past and building an even stronger future together. Happy Bicentennial, Madison!

Proud to celebrate Pride Month and stand with our LGBTQ+ community at events across the district, including Madison’s Pride flag raising last week. Pride is a time to honor the progress we’ve made, recognize the work that remains, and reaffirm that everyone deserves to live authentically, safely, and with dignity. The Pride flag is an important visible symbol of inclusion, acceptance and the message that everyone belongs in our communities.

Wishing everyone a happy and meaningful Pride Month! 🏳️‍🌈

Things that make me happy - the list goes on.

Proud to share that we secured an additional $29.4 million in state reimbursement funding to support the upcoming construction projects at Mary T. Murphy and Mary R. Tisko Elementary Schools.
This was a true team effort alongside Superintendent Dr. Chris Tranberg, COO Blaize Levitan, First Selectman Josh Brooks, and Reps. Comey and Rader, and we were thrilled to see it cross the finish line this session.

These funds will deliver significant tax savings for Branford while helping create state-of-the-art learning environments for our youngest learners. Investing in modern, high-quality schools for Pre-K through 4th grade students is an investment in their future, their success, and the strength of the community for generations to come.

Memorial Day is not defined by picnics, parades, or ceremonies, it is defined by remembrance. Even on this rainy day that resulted in many canceled activities, we pause to honor the brave Americans who gave everything in service to our country. May we never forget their sacrifice. 🇺🇸

I joined our Lieutenant Governor, Deputy Commissioner King of the DOT, First Selectman Josh Brooks, Economic Development Director Perry Maresca, as well as Reps. Rader and Comey to celebrate the $800,000 Community Connectivity Grant for Branford’s Pathways Improvement Plan. These grant dollars will bridge connectivity and improve accessibility on Ivy, North Ivy, Cedar, North Main and Rose Streets. The sidewalks will provide for safe passage in the downtown area and improve the economic vitality of the community.
