Meet PoundCake Bakery , a Black-owned, family-run business serving up a taste of home since 2016. Rooted in a family recipe passed down from their matriarch and inspired by Southern traditions, Perfect PoundCakes has spent the last 10 years perfecting their poundcake with lots of creativity and flavor along the way.

Connecticut made, with national reach. 📚

Lifelong Connecticut resident and content creator Alex P. Taylor, known as the “Nacho King of Connecticut,” is releasing his debut cookbook, Totally Nachrageous, on Tuesday, August 25!

From growing up in New Britain and attending Central Connecticut State University to working in Connecticut’s hospitality industry and building a career highlighting local restaurants, businesses and experiences, Alex’s story has deep roots in our state.

Even the cookbook has another local connection: it was photographed by Connecticut-based food photographer Lisa Nichols of Bread & Beast Photography, who has spent years capturing the people and places behind Connecticut’s culinary scene.

It’s another example of the talent that lives, works and creates right here in Connecticut.
