The Hartford Area Development Corporation (HADC), a nonprofit 501© (4) organization, has a long-standing commitment to economic development. The organization was formed in 1977 through the initiative of the Hartford Area Chamber of Commerce and with the cooperation of City Government. At the time, the Common Council was looking for a nonpolitical body to spur industrial and economic growth, and Ch

amber of Commerce members felt that, since they already had several other missions, a new, single purpose group would be most effective. While the organization was chartered as a nonprofit body, initially $50 “Stock Certificates” were sold, one per person and/or business/industry. $10,000 was raised in this way, showing the extent of initial community participation. The activities of the HADC in cooperation with City government can be credited for the creation of thousands of jobs. Through business retention and recruitment efforts over the past thirty years, new manufacturing floor space in excess of 5,600,000 sq. has been added to the industrial base of Hartford

Washington County Executive Josh Schoemann; Next Generation Housing (NGH) Committee members Deb Sielski, Sup. Brian Krebs and Sup. Jodi Schulteis; Tom Hostad – Executive Director of Hartford Area Development Corporation; Jen Keller- Village of Jackson Administrator; and Katelin Bridgman of EDWC, joined A&N Contracting for a wall raising event yesterday to celebrate the first Next Generation Housing homes being built in Skyway Park in City of Hartford, Wis.

Washington County entered into a public-private partnership with A&N Contractors owners Tony Monfre and Nate Dziatkiewicz using NGH funds toward land acquisition of the seven lots. Seven single family homes will be constructed over the next two years with price points starting at $319,990. The first homes will be ready for occupancy in the spring of 2024.

What are you doing tomorrow night? 🎼☀️🌸

The Hartford City Band continues its annual tradition of the Summer in the Park concert series. Concerts are held on Wednesday nights at 8 p.m. at Woodlawn Park (1200 Wacker Drive).

The band’s repertoire includes everything from classical to marches and musicals. Often, the summer concerts feature a theme or a guest artist. Best of all, the concerts are free! Remaining dates include:

The next award category we'd like to recognize in preparation for our Annual Dinner is the "Jim and Dorothy Algiers Service to the Community Award."

Dr. Jim and Dorothy Algiers left their mark on nearly every landmark, institution and civic organization in Hartford from the Hartford Lion's Club, the St. Killian's Board and the Hartford Christmas Committee, to the Schauer Arts & Activities Center and the Jack Russell Memorial Library.

This award recognizes an individual or couple who have/has continuously given back to the community in way of service.
