On September 3rd, 2026, around 1:00 A.M. the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a domestic incident in the 13000 block of U.S. Highway 231 in Utica. Upon investigation, it was determined that the female had discharged a fi***rm in result of the argument. Both the male and female, Jason Fitch and Ginger Stewart, were arrested and taken into custody without incident and lodged into the Ohio County Detention Center on the following charges:

Ginger Stewart:
Wanton Endangerment 1st - Discharge of a Fi***rm
Tampering with Physical Evidence

Jason Fitch:
Assault 4th Degree- Domestic Violence, Minor Injury

On September 2nd, 2026, around 10:22 P.M, the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to an incident in the 700 block of New Cut Rd in Whitesville, where a male had forced entry into a residence. The male, had shot a victim inside of the residence multiple times before abducting his ex-girlfriend and fleeing in a vehicle into Daviess County. This investigation is still on- going and further details will be released at a later date. The Ohio County Sheriff’s office will be attending the press conference with Daviess County Sheriff’s Office later today.

The Ohio County Sheriff’s Office has been contacted by the Madera Police Department in California regarding a missing juvenile case they are currently investigating.

Authorities have received information that 16-year-old Aryanna Andujar may have possibly been seen in or around the Beaver Dam area late this afternoon.

Our detectives have been in contact with investigators with the Madera Police Department for the past couple of hours and are working to obtain additional information regarding Aryanna’s possible whereabouts.

If you have seen Aryanna Andujar or have any information that may help locate her, please contact the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office at 270-298-4444 or the Madera Police Department in California immediately.

On August 17, 2026, deputies with the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant in the 1200 block of Sandefur Crossing Road in Cromwell, Kentucky. Upon ex*****on of the search warrant, deputies were able to locate an amount of suspected methamphetamine, ma*****na and prescription medications along with related drug paraphernalia. Three subjects were arrested and lodged in the Ohio County Detention Center on the following charges:

Tracy Stewart age 36 of Cromwell, Kentucky was charged with:
• Possession of a controlled substance 1st degree 1st offense (Methamphetamine)
• Drug Paraphernalia- Buy/Possess
• Possession of Ma*****na

Charles Sorrels age 56 of Beaver Dam, Kentucky was charged with:
• Possession of a controlled substance 1st degree 2nd offense (methamphetamine)
• Drug Paraphernalia- Buy/Possess
• Possession of Ma*****na

Tresa Johnston age 63 of Cromwell, Kentucky was charged with:
• Possession of a controlled substance 1st degree 1st offense
• Drug Paraphernalia- Buy/Possess
• Possession of Ma*****na
• Possession of a controlled substance, 3rd degree- drug unspecified
• Prescription controlled substance not in proper container 1st offense

This investigation is ongoing and charges on additional subjects are forthcoming.

Ohio County’s new school year starts tomorrow! To prioritize the safety of all involved in our school systems, we ask that you keep a few things in mind tomorrow...

1) Be sure to watch school zones and obey the speed limits, there will be increased patrol in school zones and at the schools.
2) Remember there will be an increase in traffic in the county, make sure to pay attention, use caution, and watch out for hazards.
3) Also, keep an eye out for school buses and kids during the commute and remember to always stop for school buses when lights are flashing, this will be strictly enforced.

We look forward to having a safe and successful school year!

*We ask that you pay special attention to the roadway in front of the high school as it will be very congested in this area.*

Update: Roadway is back open.

The Ohio County Sheriff’s Office is currently on scene of an accident in the area of the 2000 block of State Route 505 S regarding an overturned semi-truck. The roadway is currently closed at this time while the situation is resolved, we ask motorists to please avoid the area as wreckers have arrived on scene to clean up. We will update when the roadway is back open.

Press Release
The Ohio County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a death that occurred at approximately 3:00 a.m. this morning.
Deputies were dispatched to the 15000 block of U.S. Highway 62 East, near the community of Horse Branch, in reference to a reported shooting. Upon arrival, deputies located a deceased male at the residence.
Through the course of the investigation, deputies and detectives quickly identified and located and arrest 36-year-old Jesse Baize, who has been arrested and charging him with the following offenses:
● Murder
● Failure of a Person to Report the Death of a Person
● Criminal Trespassing
● Tampering with Physical Evidence
This investigation remains active and ongoing. Members of the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office are currently searching a nearby lake for additional evidence related to the investigation.
