Support a grieving family whose father was killed by cops! They’re facing homelessness after losing their housing and their car is broken. Funds will go directly to the family to pay for more hotel nights while they search for an apartment, help pay the security deposit when they find an apartment, help pay for a moving truck when they find a place they can move to, and cover any other costs they need to move and get back on their feet. On Sunday 7/26 we gathered at Bushnell Park for a vigil to celebrate the life of Everard Walker. Hartford pigs killed Everard back in February 2026 after his family called 211 to ask for a mental health evaluation and help after he ran out of his medicaiton. 5 months later and there are still no consequences for Alexander Clifford (the pig that shot him) or the 211 operators who asked the police to come despite the family making it clear they didn’t want the police there.

We were joined by Ms. Valerie, whose son Steven Barrier died in Stamford PD custody back in 2019 after police ignored and mocked his pleas for medical attention. As she states, it’s important that we keep showing up and confronting those responsible for the deaths of our loved ones, until ALL families get justice.

FREE JOE GRITS! On July 27, 2026, a Bridgeport judge sentenced Joe Grits to 7 years in prison, suspended after 3. This sentencing came after a jury in May found him guilty of inciting injury and making threats to a police officer. Joe’s alleged “threats”? Instagram posts. Posts where he expressed his grief and anger after Bridgeport pig Yoon Heo murdered his friend Dyshan Best last year. Bridgeport wants to scare and silence people who fight on the front lines for these killer cops to face consequences. Joe isn’t a criminal, he is the target of political repression.

Bridgeport Judge Robert Golger sent Joe to jail without bond. We can’t let the appellate court go unchecked as they take their time.

On Saturday, July 11th Springfield, MA pigs needlessly and recklessly chased 26 year-old Tony Castillo on his motorcycle causing the crash that took his life.

The incident came just weeks after Springfield Mayor Sarno, the DA, and state and local police launched a “multi-agency enforcement initiative” to “crack down” on gatherings.

They have Tony’s blood on their hands. Justice for Tony Castillo!

SUNDAY 7/26 4:30pm: VIGIL FOR EVERARD WALKER @ BUSHNELL PARK

Hartford police murdered Everard Walker in February. Five months later, there is still no justice. Alexander Clifford, one of the pigs who invaded Everard’s home, shot and killed him inside the apartment, in front of his family. He still hasn’t been fired. He still hasn’t been charged with murder. He still hasn’t been thrown in prison where he belongs. While Everard’s family reels from this devastating loss, the murderer with a badge walks free. Everard should still be here today! Alexander Clifford should face real consequences for stealing Everard’s life!

We’re joining Everard’s family on Sunday, July 26 at 4:30pm for a vigil honoring him. We’ll be setting up at Bushnell Park in Hartford. Bring green or white candles.

Yesterday Dare to Struggle went out to the corner of Park Street in Hartford to spread the word about Viva La Huelga, a national day of protest we called to support the resistance of immigrants on hunger strike at multiple ICE detention centers.

7 of our chapters across the country protested at their nearest ICE detention center to support those on the inside and echo their demands: shut these death camps down! Resistance is spreading, led by the immigrants being kept in detention centers around the country. This is the direction the fight against ICE needs to go and it is on us on the outside to fan the flames.

We met people upset by ICE’s presence in Hartford who want the kidnappings to end. Next we want to travel to the nearest detention center—Wyatt in Central Falls, Rhode Island—to connect with people detained and their families, and eventually call for a protest there as well.

Hunger strikers inside ICE detention centers across the country are the leading force changing the situation right before us. Resistance is spreading and led by immigrants being kept in death camps around the country, who are demanding the full closure of all ICE detention centers. It’s up to us on the outside to match the hunger strikers’ militancy.

We’re hitting the street to spread awareness about the hunger strikes and inspire people to join us in taking this fight to detention centers near CT. Meet us at the corner of Park & Broad St at 4pm TODAY, June 27. Speak out against ICE’s atrocities! Demand the closure of all detention centers, freedom for all kidnapped immigrants, and the end of deportations!

On March 31 2025, Bridgeport pig Yoon Heo murdered Dyshan Best. Dyshan’s friend Joe Grits took to social media to put the pigs on blast. Now Joe’s facing up to ten years in prison for his words, while Yoon Heo walks away with no consequences.

Joe Grits is not a criminal, and Yoon Heo is not a victim. Yoon Heo should be locked up for life, and Joe Grits should walk free!

Joe’s sentencing is on July 27 at 2pm. Please come out to 172 Golden Hill Street in Bridgeport to stand with him as he fights these bogus charges.

Join us on the sixth anniversary of George Floyd’s murder this Monday, May 25th in front of the Hartford Public Library Albany Branch at 5:00pm to speak out against the justification of Timothy Glaze’s murder, the fact that Everard Walker’s murderer, Alexander Clifford, is still employed by HPD, and that neither he nor Joseph Magnano, the murderer of Stevie Jones, have been indicted or convicted of murder.

Speak out against the 8,000+ lives stolen by police since George Floyd’s murder six years ago Monday.
